If you’re planning to get into live video mixing/switching, now is the time. Blackmagic Design has just slashed the price of some of its ATEM Mini Pro switchers: The ATEM Mini Pro is yours for $295 ($200 off), the ATEM Mini Pro ISO sells for $495 ($300 off). Not that these live video switchers/streamers were super expensive, to begin with, but with the new pricing, they’re really quite affordable for what you get in return in terms of features. However, the top-of-the-line ATEM Mini Pro Extreme and Extreme ISO models retain their prices for now ($995 and $1,295, respectively). Otherwise, I think it’s pretty obvious that Blackmagic Design is trying to aggressively sell higher quantities of the aforementioned ATEM Mini Pro units here. Or maybe they didn’t sell as well as expected and therefore a price cut was in order. Or, to give a third possible reason, the supply chains have finally gotten back on track. Whatever the reason, it’s always nice for us filmmakers to get capable equipment for less money, of course.
