A short but ambitious partnership ARRI originally acquired Claypaky in December 2022 to expand its footprint beyond film and broadcast into the live entertainment sector. With Claypaky’s globally recognized brand and product range—including moving head fixtures, color changers, and theatrical lighting—ARRI aimed to offer comprehensive lighting solutions across both cinematic and live event markets. At the time, ARRI emphasized shared values in technological innovation, market leadership, and passion for professional lighting. Short-lived: in March 2023, Claypaky CEO Marcus Graser and ARRI Chairman of the Executive Board, Dr. Matthias Erb, shook hands over the completed acquisition of Claypaky from ams OSRAM.
