The Sidus Link Bridge from Aputure is now shipping and works as a wireless transceiver between the 2.4ghz signal present in older Aputure products and the Bluetooth mesh connection common in more modern Aputure fixtures. For $89.00 you can now breath new life into your legacy 2.4ghz based Aputure fixtures like the Tri-8, LS c120d, LS c120d II, and LS C300d by allowing them to integrate with your newer Bluetooth fixtures such as the 300X, MC series or 300D MK II — to name a few. For one, having all your lights controllable through a single Android or iOS device has obvious on-set benefits versus bouncing between devices and Aputure promises the Sidus Link Bridge will also increase the range of your overall Bluetooth mesh network on-location up to “400 meters”. The manufacturer suggests a maximum of 20 fixtures set into a channel or group pairing towards a maximum of 60 fixtures controlled by the Sidus Link Bridge in total. The Sidus Link Bridge also triggers nine effects in legacy Aputure fixtures such as “Lightning” and “Faulty Bulb”. Obviously older fixtures that aren’t RGB won’t suddenly become RGB, so you’ll need to keep that in mind of course when selecting different effects.
