D7000
  • Do you think the Nikon D7000 has a future of being hacked?  A firmware update is available but where would you start?  My room mate is a 4th year electrical engineer student. I asked him about hacking it but he told me he doesn't know where to start.  Or know which IDE/Language was used in compiling the nikon firmware.  Any advice to get a jumpstart?

  • Nikon D7000 firmware is encrypted.

You can look at pages for specific chips used.

Dumping them is extremely hard task, as requires knowledge and expirience. And, normally, cost very big money.
