Burned sensor due to lasers

  • Oooh... That is not nice. I was wondering about those lasers when watching the Moscow sound and light festival in October... Now we all know what can happen...

  • Thanks for posting this. I can only imagine how this is for our retinas.

  • What irresponsible people do laser shows with the lasers pointing into the audience?

The broken GH2 can be replaced for a few hundred bucks, but the injuries to the eyes will stay.

  • Bull sh*t

  • Oh, nooooo..... Yeah, let the sensor be replaced, good luck man.

  • I've seen that happen on a 5D MkII as well.

  • Your eyes will blink before the damage will occur. Or so they say. The camera won't in video mode.

  • Ouch... As I understand a scanning laser like this is supposed to be safe for the eyes.

On a side note, this video is shot at the Glow festival in Eindhoven NL where I had a project in the building where the indoors shots are taken. Funny to see that on PV :)
