    Apple paid its CEO Tim Cook 1,447 times the median salary in 2021. In documents released by Apple, Cook received nearly $100 million in a year.

    The median is the salary, which divides all workers into two equal parts: the salary of some is less than the median, while the salary of others is more. Apple estimates that the median employee wages were $68,254 in 2021. For comparison: in 2020 it was $57,783, and Cook received 256 times more.
