Youtube and duplicate content - where it is all going?
  • According to a post on the company's Help Forum, YouTube Partners, both new and established, who break the new duplicate content rules will face their channel's removal. YouTube states that these changes are an effort to safeguard creators from abuses such as piracy.

YouTube states that any of videos that:

    • Appears to be automatically generated
    • Pulled from third party sources with no content or narrative added by the creator
    • Uploaded many times by multiple users and you're not the original uploader
    • Uploaded in a way that is trying to get around our copyright tools

Seems like logical and long time delayed decision (especially as youtube had ton of such), yet main idea here is slightly hidden.

First, it allows to prosecute and not allow duplication of any videos from channels you banned for political or economical reasons.

Second, you are only one small step from ability to ban any news/event commenters channels who have lot of pulled content.
