    Hi Everyone.

    I have a friend visiting Japan and he just purchased a Panasonic DMC-GX1 for me.
    To find that the menus are all in Japanese and it seems like it cannot be changed to English.

    Any reccomendation on a firmware or update that could alter this?

    Yep.
    No firmware update exist that can change this.
    You'll soon learn main things :-)
    We'll work with this camera, I hope, but not tomorrow :-)

    If only I had known of this. Would you recommend that he try and sell the camera or do you think he should bring it anyway. Any chance you guys work the camera in a week?

    ahhhhh, what a mistake!! not sure what to do. If i cant read the menus
    it will be dificult to customize and use it.

    I really considered learning some japanese, or make side by side comparisons of the menu pages from manual to learn, etc. if its a lot cheaper, figure out if its worth your time ;)
