    • Color depth: up to 16 bits per channel (high dynamic range)

    • Interlaced files can be decoded quickly at lower quality/resolution (“Responsive By Design”)

  • Looks really good.

    But I wonder whether it's providing enough of a difference to motivate widespread use - given that most bandwidth-critical applications are dominated by lossy compression and that photo-enthusiasts storing lossless images locally might not bother too much about 25% more or less.
