25mm f1.4 Leica Summilux D four thirds ?
  • I'm about to buy this lens, however i see two different types of same lens, one with 62mm thread and one with 46mm,
is there any difference or I'm wrong ?
Have anyone experience with this lens ?

  • There's one that's on the old 4/3 mount and a new one on the micro 4/3 mount. Both great optically but old Leica will need additional adapter to use on micro 4/3 cameras.
  • the older one is bigger, more expensive, and the AF is slower, in addition to needing the adapter as already stated, but it does have a manual aperture ring which the new micro four thirds version lacks
  • 43 version is a macro lens at 1:2. Sharp at 1.4. Slow AF.

m43 is not a macro. Not corner sharpness at 1.4. Fast AF.
  • Thank you very much,
now i understand the difference ...
So i need to go for 46mm filter thread and faster AF, as the other one would require adapter and is slow AF ... or ?
How much is AF slow compared to new one m43 ?
As i see some on ebay but was confused with images , 43 and m43 is different , was confused as i forgot "micro" ...
  • Just get a 77mm filter... then thank me later :)
