War: EU declared all nuclear power plants as 100% green and sustainable
    • According to the draft, sent on Friday to EU national governments for review, nuclear energy could be classified as sustainable as long as new plants that are granted construction permits by 2045 meet a set of criteria to avoid significant harm to the environment and water resources, Bloomberg reported.

“The Commission considers there is a role for natural gas and nuclear as a means to facilitate the transition towards a predominantly renewable-based future,” the EU executive arm said in a statement on Saturday.

but not all guys are happy

“Including nuclear power and gas in the EU taxonomy is like labeling a caged egg as organic,” said Michael Bloss, a German member of the Green group in the European Parliament. “Instead of channeling money into investments in the solar and wind industries, old and extremely expensive business models can now be continued under false guise.”

MAGA: Working age people are dying very fast
    • The death rate for those aged 18-64 has risen an astonishing 40% over pre-pandemic levels, according to the CEO of Indianapolis-based insurance company OneAmerica.

"We are seeing, right now, the highest death rates we have seen in the history of this business – not just at OneAmerica," said Scott Davison, head of the $100 billion insurance company that's been in operation since 1877 and has approximately 2,400 employees.

"And what we saw just in third quarter, we’re seeing it continue into fourth quarter, is that death rates are up 40% over what they were pre-pandemic," Davison said during an online news conference last week. "Just to give you an idea of how bad that is, a three-sigma or a one-in-200-year catastrophe would be 10% increase over pre-pandemic."

"So 40% is just unheard of," he added.

"What the data is showing to us is that the deaths that are being reported as COVID deaths greatly understate the actual death losses among working-age people from the pandemic. It may not all be COVID on their death certificate, but deaths are up just huge, huge numbers," he said.

COVID hit Samsung management - they added SmartTV to monitors as main feature!
    • image

The main function on which the development and main efforts were concentrated was the addition of Smart TV applications and subscriptions, including the ability to access streaming video theaters and other applications.

The M8's case is 11.4mm thick, which required less uniform backlighting, but is significantly thinner than previous models. Another new feature is the SlimFit wearable camera, which is only compatible with firmware, which can be attached with a built-in magnet to the monitor for video calls. The monitor supports unused video chat applications such as Google Duo. We add that when using normal applications, the user will need to buy a webcam for video calls and participation in video conferencing.

Samsung has also integrated the SmartThings IoT Hub into the monitor, which allows the user to see and control the location of the various smart devices available directly from the smart monitor. Samsung has announced that the Smart Monitor M8 has a new Workspace feature that integrates work-related web services such as Microsoft 365 into an intuitive hub.

Another new feature is Game Home, allowing you to use the Smart Monitor M8 to stream games from cloud gaming services. Owners will also be able to connect wireless controllers to it, according to Samsung.

War: Apple is using slave labor factories
    • Massive food poisoning and unsanitary conditions sparked major protests at a huge factory in India where Apple gadgets are made. The workers admit that they are forced to work in unbearable conditions, live in overcrowded, unventilated rooms without sewers and eat in rat-infested street kitchens, according to The Times.

For weeks, the workers of a huge factory for the production of iPhones in the Indian city of Shriperumbudur "were covered with one wave of illness after another." The owners promised to react, but as a result, but in reality they did nothing.

According to the newspaper, in mid-December, after dinner, 150 local workers were poisoned, became seriously ill and were taken to the hospital with vomiting and diarrhea. Another 100 people needed treatment due to an outbreak of dysentery.

This was the last straw. Two days after the incident, hundreds of workers marched against the dire conditions in the camps, where several thousand people live. For several hours, protesters blocked the main road leading to the vast industrial area.

      Why no one is surprised?

The workers live in crowded dormitories without windows, she said. They do not have access to water and sanitation. For their intense hours of work, they earn £ 100 a month - far less than a maid can earn. They are fed dishes of rotten vegetables and weevil-infested rice cooked in rat-infested, garbage-laden street kitchens.

Another 21-year-old witness said that in a room of a local dormitory, designed for five residents, they have to sleep on the floor for 15 people, snuggling close to each other. Some female workers often go hungry during the day. They found worms in the food and sent photographs to the leader, but no action was taken.

Doesn't it sound like factory in UK in 18th century?

It is because Apple owners are no different than 18th century owners.

People are not fans of office work anymore
    • A Hackajob survey of 2,000 British techies found that 72% of workers found it important to be able to work remotely. Every fifth employee was looking for a new job with the ability to do it remotely.

A slightly newer poll from Microsoft found that British techies find this feature very important. According to their survey, more than half of workers will start thinking about firing if they are forced back into offices.

A poll from Future Forum Pulse showed that IT specialists from the USA, Britain, Australia, France, Germany and Japan agree on one thing - most want to work remotely at least partially. 75% want more choices about where to work, and 93% want more choices about where to work. Why? Most often - "to improve the balance of work and personal life."

The point is that most business owners and directors haven’t taken the hint yet. 44% of them want to work in offices. At the same time, among employees, this percentage is only 17. Three quarters of bosses want to work in the office 3-5 days a week - and only 34% of employees want the same.

      Nice progress.
