The ASUS PQ321 True 4K UHD Monitor uses cutting-edge Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) rather than traditional amorphous silicon for the active layer of its LCD panel. IGZO panels support much smaller transistors than amorphous silicon, which in turn gives much smaller pixels and the 3840 x 2160 resolution of the PQ321 is four times that of a 1920 x 1080 Full HD display.

176-degree wide viewing angles on both vertical and horizontal planes minimize onscreen color shift, while the 350cd/m² brightness rating and 8ms gray-to-gray response time ensure smooth, bright, and vibrant moving visuals. IGZO technology also gives reduced energy consumption compared to amorphous silicon and reduces bulk — at 35mm at its thickest point, the PQ321 is the thinnest 4K UHD monitor available today.

GH5 AF Lock with an external monitor http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/24682/gh5-af-lock-with-an-external-monitor Mon, 02 Nov 2020 10:55:08 +0000 LongJohnSilver 24682@/talks/discussions I switched my AF setting to AF Lock ON and AF Lock Hold ON as I've always done since GH2 but now I have an external monitor.

It doesn't work with an external monitor connected: I'm in AFS and a single press of the AF Lock button should focuses the subject and lock the focus.

I press the button, I see AFL on the display but the camera doesn't focuses. I shut off the external monitor or I disconnect the hdmi cable and everything works again.

The strange thing is that the setting I normally use for macro (AF-Lock: AF-ON) works perfectly. I found several post on the net. It's not the cable and not the monitor. Do you know if a workaround exists? I have the latest fw.

P.S. I forgot to say I'm a underwater videographer, so the camera is inside an uw housing hence no magical Jedi tricks as touch screen AF or manual focus for WA shots.

Based on cages initially built by hand, this next generation cage will be CNC'd and even more feature-rich than the previous generations, as well as incredibly light weight and well-balanced!

While the design is nearly complete, I am still open to ideas and suggestions people here might have. We addressed many of the issues often experienced with other cages on the market and added a few extra features never before seen such as a relocatable grip option!

HKC B6000/B7000 - 25inch/27inch 2k IPS Monitor - $340 http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/18556/hkc-b6000b7000-25inch27inch-2k-ips-monitor-340 Fri, 22 Dec 2017 12:21:13 +0000 shoe_e 18556@/talks/discussions enter image description here So normally I'm pretty selfish about these things. If I find something super awesome floating out among the interwebs, I tend to keep them to myself until I've made sure I've had my fill. Having said that, I actually bit the bullet (since I already had 2 very solid ips panels, 1 decent ultrawide ips, and one super cheap ips panel), and bought myself the 25" B6000. If you can find the B7000 in stock somewhere, good for you. I'm always searching for stuff, so I always find all this random stuff on places like Gearbest, or Lightinthebox, or Banggood. Most of it is untested and have little to no reviews, but for certain things I'm willing to be the guinea pig. In the case of the HKC B6000, the sleekness and alleged specs seemed way too awesome for the price. enter image description here

After some painstaking Google Translate and tons of research, I managed to find some fantastic reviews of the monitor. They were all in a foreign language (which to me is pretty much anything that isn't English), but after translating the pages made me believe that this may actually be a fantastic purchase. Yes you can find 2k ips monitors for cheaper than this, but not sleeker. This is actually a giant chunk of metal. I've had the monitor for about 3 weeks now and my un-technical review is the following: I definitely plan on picking up a spydercolor elite or something to calibrate the monitor. That being said, according to the specs page and many reviews (which I'll post below this blurb), this is a 10bit monitor with 99% Adobe RGB. From what I've seen, the display is amazing and the color is fantastic, but at the same time since I haven't calibrated my monitors, I'm not sure which colors are off. Once I do that, I'll have a better review. In terms of bezel, this thing actually has picture-accurate thin bezel. I thought the bezel on the Viewsonic VX2370SMH was very good, but this is much thinner. As I mentioned before, this is one seamless piece of metal, so it is not a light monitor in any fashion. It also tends to run hotter than monitors in plastic housings, but I haven't run into any overheating issues yet and I don't think it's an issue. The menu does come in Chinese, I believe. No disrespect, I just don't know the differences between those languages and I don't mean to insult anyone with my ignorance on the topic. You can change the language to English. If I missed anything, please feel free to comment and I'll try to respond in a reasonable time. In the meantime, enjoy these reviews and images. Most of these contain detailed color analysis of the monitors. Again, none of these reviews are in English, so translate if necessary.

Maybe someone here uses the GH4 for filmmaking and wants to use their iPhone as a wireless monitor. In that case you're like me, but lucky enough I'm a developer ... so I just wanted to let people know that I'm working on a viewfinder app just like that.

It's still a prototype for now, but if you're interested in following the development I suggest following this topic.

Panasonic Image App: Use with Laptops and Tablets http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14044/panasonic-image-app-use-with-laptops-and-tablets Mon, 09 Nov 2015 07:17:06 +0000 Brian_Siano 14044@/talks/discussions I was thinking of sinking some cash into a laptop, and it occurred to me that I ought to take location shooting into consideration. So I've been looking at Android laptops and two-in-ones: I figure, I could use the two-in-one tablet as a field monitor using the Panasonic app with my GH4-- I figure I'd use the camera's screen as cameraperson, while the director can watch remotely on the laptop/tablet. And the laptop features could be used for file storage and clip logging.

And I'm also considering getting a Windows two-in-one-- that is, if the Panasonic app works under the Android emulators available for Windows. The benefits there are having two OSes, more options for things like hard drives, and maybe even getting a machine capable of running Premiere Pro for some editing in the field.

So, I'm looking for advice. Does the Panasonic app work under an Android emulator well enough for field use? Has anyone else used equipment in this manner? (And is Panasonic considering creating a version of its app to run under Windows?)

I'm saving up for a G85, and with that I'm looking for a new 4k screen.

The screen is going to be used as a monitor for my pc. I like to have 40" +.

My priorities are:

  1. viewing angle
  2. colour accuracy
  3. NON flickering when set to low brightness
  4. latency
  5. HDR ready

My budget hovers about € 700.

Any recommendations?

I've been looking for a monitor for a good price for a few months now. Still waiting for a used MustHD 701 to pop up (bid too low on the most recent ebay one).

This one is cheap and has similar features, but not sure about quality. I really like the idea for the controller on the musthd - zooming without touching monitor sounds really helpful. Only really using it for framing and focus, single operator. The oversharp mode on the H056 looked very useful. Most peaking features seem to be useless.

Anyone have any real world feedback? (Also can't seem to find controller/remote for this

5.6" 1280x800 on camera monitor with peaking, aka H056 http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2823/5.6-1280x800-on-camera-monitor-with-peaking-aka-h056 Tue, 10 Apr 2012 03:02:49 +0000 SightfulProd 2823@/talks/discussions I bought this monitor because it has 1280x800 resolution which is rare to see at a low price point (got it for $220 USD). The other monitor I was considering was the Liliput 7" but figured the smaller size of 5.6" would be more manageable, not to mention monitor peepers on set! For the canon range, I've used it with 5D, 7D, 60D and 600D. All of them give basic monitoring @ 1080i (with pillar boxes) but drops to 480p mush during recording except for the 7D. This is annoying as the monitor cannot reproduce the real sharpness of the actual video.

The colours aren't as accurate as cameras built-in LCD's (anyone have a monitor calibration method, pls?) Next, I paired the monitor with the Panasonic AF-100 on a studio shoot. The piece was lit high contrast with many, many shadows shot @ 400 ISO. The monitor showed pixelated 'noise' in the image but when I looked at the studio monitor it was clean, clean. So the monitor has trouble reproducing blacks.

Really I would only recommend this monitor for framing and focus. Of course pair this with the Panasonic cameras as they put out 1080i during recording which is crucial for focus pulling. Or.. wait till Canon gets their act together. The monitor came with a case with divided foam, sunhood, HDMI-HDMI mini cable, Sony battery plate (you'll have to buy a battery, d/w they are cheap). For the cheap price it's a good start :)

For example, if they were shooting two people on a greenscreen soundstage, they could superimpose the background footage to help line the shot up correctly.

Does anyone know which recorder/monitors on the market can do something like this? (Say, play two video streams superimposed over each other? Or load in a graphics file to superimpose?

Cheapest Custom Ratio Field monitor? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14010/cheapest-custom-ratio-field-monitor Sat, 31 Oct 2015 16:53:59 +0000 redimp 14010@/talks/discussions Hi guys, I am looking for a way to preview my anamorphic footage on BMPCC and am looking for the cheapest external monitor with user-defined ratio.

I do not care about any other features, I just want it to be around 7'' or 10'' and able to produce 3.55:1 anamorphic or 1:1 square image.

It can be plasticky, heavy, I don't mind chinese-grade quality, just need it to be able to produce ratios that I mentioned above and fit BMPCC.

Main issue is the price point – I am on a very tight budget.

Thanks!

3D Printed Monitor Bracket http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14887/3d-printed-monitor-bracket Mon, 28 Mar 2016 09:05:46 +0000 andyharris 14887@/talks/discussions Over this weekend break I finally got a 3D printer up and running. It's a Fisher Delta Beta, and cost about £249 including the first 500g of PLA filament.

I'm hoping to make props for a film with it. But a first job, here's a bracket for a 19" rack mount monitor that I use for focus confirmation on:

It was designed in Cheetah3D for which you can treat each unit as 1mm, which helps to create very accurate sizing etc.

Monitors or EVF for BMPCC http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14739/monitors-or-evf-for-bmpcc Tue, 08 Mar 2016 02:54:27 +0000 michellewhite0210 14739@/talks/discussions I have a new BMPCC, and search for some monitors to work with it, with HDMI input and output would be best. :D

Today I get a video for the review with BMPCC and 3.5 inch EVF, new version to support BMPCC, HDMI input & output, with very

nice price.

The video is as below.

Is there anyone have this EVF? How about it working with BMPCC? Or someone have other monitors from this brand?? Thanks.
