AVCHD Definition

AVCHD (Advanced Video Coding High Definition) is part of the AVC standard. AVCHD was jointly developed by Panasonic and Sony and introduced in 2006 primarily for use in high definition consumer camcorders. AVCHD is the codec of choice for the Panasonic GH1 and GH2.
