Three Pills Sci-fi Short - Shot on Canon C500MK2 https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/23820/three-pills-sci-fi-short-shot-on-canon-c500mk2 Sat, 02 May 2020 14:04:49 +0000 Chris74 23820@/talks/discussions Hi. It has been a while since my last post. We just released our latest indie sci-fi short THREE PILLS shot on the new Canon C500MK2 and I would be thrilled to hear your opinion.

Some time back, we had this idea on doing a short showing what our overpopulated and aging world could look like in 2050. Back then, we had no idea how realistic it would become in such a short time.

Genre: Sci-fi I Thriller Duration: 2 Min. 33 Sec.

Thanks so much for your time!

Fashion Style Narrative Film 2:30 (what I learnt) & (does the narrative make sense?). https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13264/-fashion-style-narrative-film-230-what-i-learnt-does-the-narrative-make-sense.- Tue, 23 Jun 2015 11:49:12 +0000 prorevolution 13264@/talks/discussions

Things I learnt:

  • Timelapse with LEDs is a lot of fun and looks great as lighting.
  • Recording subtitles in another language no matter how organized you are is tough!
  • Models can be really versatile and if you have faith, they'll come thru!

Would love to hear any thoughts, mainly does the narrative make sense, does it translate well?

"The Masterpiece" - a short about music and magic https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11974/the-masterpiece-a-short-about-music-and-magic Wed, 17 Dec 2014 04:57:39 +0000 JackBayer 11974@/talks/discussions Hi!

We´ve just released our 2012-short to public viewing on youtube and I´d like to invite you to take a look!

It´s a film mainly shot on GH1 which eventually became hacked. Since we shot additional footage up until 2012 there´s also GH2 material in it. It was a long journey and today we´d of course make a few things better and/or differently.

Nonetheless we´re very happy with the result. But see for yourselves!

A few facts:

  • shot on GH1(3), GH2
  • audio recording via H4N + Rode NTG-2
  • mainly Minolta MD lenses, Oly 12-60mm F2,8 and one Vivitar 135mm
  • original score with some stock elements here and there
  • post production on Adobe CS(X), color via Colorista I & II

As for language: A Persian woman wrote on facebook "it´s so strong you don´t even need to understand the words". Maybe it´s better when you don´t speak German?! :D Anyways, there´s not much dialogue...

Trailer for my first (sort of) short film https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8853/trailer-for-my-first-sort-of-short-film Fri, 22 Nov 2013 08:40:30 +0000 Tjibbe 8853@/talks/discussions A trailer for a filmproject I'm doing with some friends, that is now in post-production. Our first attempt at something with some kind of narrative, cast, crew ect.. We thought we could shoot it in 1 night, in the end it took two exhausting 12 hour shoots + shooting a lot of shots excluding cast. I have no idea if the end result will be anything to write home about, but mán we had such a laugh and learned so much!

You can't make out much from the trailer, as usual.

Tell me what you think!

Ps. It's kind of a sequel to a video we made for the Tomorrowland goldenticket contest, which the trailer refrences.(shown below under the trailer)

Shot with: Panasonic GH2, with lumix 20mm, Canon 50mm f1.4, Nikon 35 f2.8 and Lumix 14-140 ZoomH4n audio recorder Rode ntg2 shotgun mic Sachtler Ace tripod Gorillapod Simple lighting

Malice (sedna q20) + Purgatorium (canis majoris) two shorts with GH2 + my first short ever https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3566/malice-sedna-q20-purgatorium-canis-majoris-two-shorts-with-gh2-my-first-short-ever Wed, 13 Jun 2012 13:23:55 +0000 conscius 3566@/talks/discussions
I know it's short, but for school i had to make a film from 1 minute. Inspired and based on een film by "side films" (really talented filmmakers!!)

And i wanted to test canis majoris, so for me it was a win-win :) Now, first of all, i did use log and transfer in fcp. I've not used 5DToRGB. Because, i didn't know, till a few minutes ago. Next time i will test 5DToRGB. (is it so much better?)

so i used: GH2 with canis majoris night patch with nokton 25mm f0,95 lens

other shortfilm (8 minutes)

with Sedna Q20 patch

Mulberry - Short Film https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3719/mulberry-short-film- Fri, 29 Jun 2012 01:12:16 +0000 apriori 3719@/talks/discussions Hello all,

This August I'll be directing a short film titled Mulberry, based on a true story about a young black man's struggle against racism in a Florida phosphate mine of the 1940s. We'll be shooting with 3 hacked GH2s (I'm a Sedna AQ1 man), using primarily Oly 12mm and Panny 7-14mm glass (we'll have a 25mm and tele zoom on hand as well). I plan on posting footage/stills and sharing relevant production experiences in this topic.

We've launched a Kickstarter campaign this week, and have been fortunate enough to have been selected as a Staff Pick. You can learn about the film on our project page, linked below, which includes a synopsis, video pitch, cast and crew head shots, and some storyboards. Feel free to share our link far and wide, but please defer any pledges to @Vitaliy_Kiselev and @driftwood, whose work has saved my production thousands of dollars. They'll both be receiving a 'Special Thanks' in our end credits as well.

http://kck.st/Lzxn8I

On that note, I'm happy to answer questions about Kickstarter or crowdfunding in general. It's a learning process, but our pledge rate is exceeding our initial expectations. Running a Kickstarter campaign is a TON of work and can be emotionally draining. I'm optimistic, but the 'producer hat' still fits a little awkwardly on this introverted writer-directer :)

The biggest lesson I've learned in the first three days: whatever you do, make sure potential backers know their pledged monies WON'T BE CHARGED until AFTER THE DEADLINE, and ONLY IF the funding goal is reached. And if they seem like they understand the process, explain it again! Early momentum is crucial, and many of my contacts delayed pledging due to mistakenly believing the funds would be transferred from their account immediately. They understood the all-or-nothing aspect, but mistakenly assumed their pledges would be charged instantly like any other online transaction.

That's it for now, but I'll update as my campaign progresses.

UPDATE***

After a successful Kickstarte

48hr Guerilla Film Competition https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3623/48hr-guerilla-film-competition- Mon, 18 Jun 2012 22:34:44 +0000 Philldaagony 3623@/talks/discussions Yes, I know 48hr films can be horribly acted, horribly edited, and horribly shot, but it forces those involved to create something from scratch, which falls in line with one my personal filmmaking tenants "just shoot." Anyway, here is out entry into the 48hr Guerilla film festival. Follow the link and make sure to "like" the YouTube video. Also, huge props to those who helped get our "Got Milk" video voted in the top 5 of the got milk commercial competition earlier this year!

Sadly, the graded version of our film didn't export in time and we were forced to submit the ungraded/non-color corrected version of the film. I'm still quite proud of the results. We shot it on the GH2 and the 5DMark III. I'll post the graded version after the contest ends.
