- Three new lenses: 18mm (27mm equivalent) f/2.0, 35mm (53mm equivalent) f/1.4 and 60mm (90mm equivalent) f/2.4
- Responsephoto says the Camera+35mm lens kit will cost 1.300 Euro. That’s actually just a bit higher than the Fuji X100 price. The other two lenses will cost 600 Euro each.
- Responsephoto says the sensors name is X-Trans! R. writes that Fuji took some ideas from the classica film technology to create the new sensor which will beat the image quality of all current fulflrame sensors! The photosites will be of 6 different colors and disposed randomly, therefore moire will be avoided.
- There is no Anti Aliasing filter on the sensor.
- The lenses are made of metal.
- The camera has the new X-mount. The lens mount acutally goes a little bit “inside” the body! The mount diameter will be large and its flange will be of 17.7 mm.
- The viewfinder is hybrid (optical and electronic). The optical viewfinder changes the view depending on the kind of prime lens you sue. This again is an idea coming from the Contax G2!
- Other incredible new thing: The autofocus sensor is…external! There is a special AF sensor on the camera body!

What would be the best Fuji cameras for video? https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/26229/what-would-be-the-best-fuji-cameras-for-video- Thu, 23 Sep 2021 18:22:49 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 26229@/talks/discussions Obviously the answer is the X-T4, but Fuji has an extensive lineup of models, but it's confusing for the same reason if you dont know the Fuji world.

So it would be good to indicate which would be the recommended models and in order of their cameras for video.

Thanks.

The new model will be the world's first medium format mirrorless digital camera to feature an image sensor that has phase detection pixels across the entire sensor, outperforming contrast detection autofocus in tracking a moving subject and delivering greater accuracy in continuous autofocus. This model will also become the first medium format digital camera to feature in-body image stabilization mechanism, to significantly broaden the scope of achieving ultra-high resolution handheld images. The camera boasts substantially improved video recording capability compared to that of the GFX 50S and GFX 50R. It will be the first mirrorless digital camera equipped with an image sensor with the size of 43.8mmx32.9mm to support 4K video recording (4K/30P).

This model will be Fujifilm's highest performance camera that offers unrivalled innovation and versatility, as seen in the three "world's first" features, satisfying all the needs of photographers at a higher level.

GFX 100 megapixel camera main features:

FUJIFILM G Format image sensor with over 100MP resolution

The camera is equipped with a 102MP "FUJIFILM G Format ("G Format") image sensor, specifically developed for this model. It delivers the highest image quality in the history of Fujifilm when combined with the fourth-generation "X-Processor 4" image processing engine that delivers superb color reproduction Fujifilm is famous for, and FUJINON GF lenses that offers ultra-high resolving power. Phase detection AF coverage on the entire sensor (approx. 100% coverage) enables fast and highly accurate autofocus regardless of your subject's position within the frame, providing a level of performance that defies the current standards of medium format digital cameras.

World's first medium format digital camera to feature in-body image stabilization

In general, the higher the number of pixels that an image sensor has, the greater the likelihood of producing images out of focus from camera shakes. This is why Fujifilm has developed a new in-body image stabilization system for the G Format. This is also a world's first for medium-format digital cameras. This has dramatically expanded the scope of achieving ultra-high resolution images (100MP+) hand-held, allowing users to explore new photographic opportunities.

World's first medium format mirrorless digital camera capable of recording 4K video

The combination of X-Processor 4's advanced processing capability and the new image sensor with fast read speed has enabled 4K video recording (4K/30P, 10bit), the world's first for a medium format mirrorless digital camera. The use of the larger image sensor facilitates a shallower depth of field, broader tone reproduction and advanced sensitivity characteristics. This, in turn, makes it possible to record a subject's texture, three-dimensional feel and even the atmosphere of the scene with an unprecedented level of ease.

Lightweight and robust magnesium alloy body with integrated vertical grip

The new camera has the size and weight equivalent to a high-end DSLR despite featuring an image sensor which is about 1.7 times the size of a 35mm sensor. This will be the first GFX camera to feature an integrated vertical grip, making it more robust and comfortable to hold, especially when large telephoto lenses are used.

PR

Valhalla, N.Y., July 7, 2016 – As a leader in advanced digital camera technology and outstanding image quality, FUJIFILM North America Corporation today announced the new FUJIFILM X-T2, a splash-resistant premium interchangeable lens camera with a large OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF). The X-T2 houses the latest generation 24.3MP X-Trans CMOS III with an APS-C sensor with no low-pass filter, boasting the highest performance in the history of X Series. The new X-T2 produces crisp image resolution comparable to that of cameras equipped with larger sensors and higher pixel counts, all in a more compact and classically-designed body.

And for the first time, the new FUJIFILM X-T2 now supports 4K video recording that can use each available Film Simulation mode, including ACROS, to easily produce premium-quality footage that is as unique as the photographer behind the viewfinder.

Dramatic improvement to auto focus system The FUJIFILM X-T2 receives a dramatically improved auto focus system (AF) that increases the overall single AF points to 325, and the number of Zone focusing points to 91 (expanded from 49 in previous models). Approximately 40% of the imaging area (center area containing 49 focusing points) is covered with phase detection auto focus pixels to form a fast and precise phase detection auto focus area that can be used in a variety of scenes.

With the high-speed X-Processor Pro and the use of improved algorithms, the X-T2 now refocuses more frequently, enabling predictive AF of advanced accuracy.

The X-T2 also has an enhanced ability to autofocus on small points of light, low-contrast objects and subjects with fine and delicate textures such as bird feathers and animal fur.

The X-T2’s performance of contrast detection AF, enabled for approximately 65% of the imaging area, has also been improved. The data read speed has been doubled compared to previous models to achieve AF performance of higher speed and precision. Photographers will enjoy accurate focusing is all shooting situations, even in low light with a -3EV.

Another area of improvement is the AF-C algorithm that has been significantly enhanced for even higher accuracy when focus-tracking moving subjects in the AF-C mode. According to the type of movement, users can choose individual settings for Subject Retention Characteristic, Acceleration / Deceleration Tracking Characteristic and Focus Zone Characteristic, or select one of five presets or customize specific settings for these three elements.

Image Quality

Fujifilm’s commitment to superior image quality remains a guiding principle, and the FUJIFILM X-T2 is the latest effort to deliver outstanding picture resolution, all from a compact and sophisticated body that is both weather-sealed and easy to travel with in any location. With Fujifilm’s proprietary image design technology, produced through the development of photographic films, the X-T2 reproduces warm skin tones, bright blue skies and rich green foliage in beautiful colors, just as you remember seeing in real life. The X-T2 includes the ACROS Film Simulation for smooth gradation, deep blacks and beautiful textures to create monochrome images that far outperform even the most demanding expectations.

The X-T2 also has the Grain Effect function for reproducing distinctive graininess seen in photographs taken with film cameras. The function is available in Strong and Weak options, and can be combined with any of the Film Simulation modes. You can easily obtain the effect of film-based photos, notable especially when the image is printed out.

Speedy throughout

Basic response specifications, such as startup time, shooting interval and shutter release time lag, have all been improved to the extreme in pursuit of a camera that operates exactly as the photographer demands. The high-speed processing power and the use of improved algorithms have significantly improved the basic autofocus performance, and X-T2 now gives users AF-C Custom Settings for even higher accuracy in focus-tracking moving subjects.

The X-T2’s electronic viewfinder, which is used to continuously track a moving subject, is capable of displaying up to 100 frames per second, while also maintaining the magnification ratio of 0.77x and the display time lag of 0.005 seconds. The duration of the viewfinder blackout, in which the evf blacks out temporarily while the camera reads picture data, has been reduced by more than half, enabling continuous shooting to ensure tracking subject movements

90mm F2 Fujifilm FUJINON XF R LM WR lens https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13000/90mm-f2-fujifilm-fujinon-xf-r-lm-wr-lens Mon, 18 May 2015 04:39:06 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 13000@/talks/discussions image

PR

Fujifilm Corporation is proud to announce that a new FUJINON XF90mmF2 R LM WR will be added to the X-Series interchangeable lens line-up in July 2015. Offering a focal length equivalent to 137mm*1 and a maximum aperture of F2.0, this short telephoto optic is ideal for portrait and sports photography.

The FUJINON XF90mmF2 R LM WR is a fast-aperture prime lens that delivers ultra-sharp images with rich bokeh even at the maximum aperture setting. The optical construction of 11 elements in 8 groups (including three ED glass elements) minimizes vignetting and creates beautiful bokeh thanks to the rounded diaphragm, which makes it perfect for portraiture as well as other applications.

Despite having a large maximum aperture, the FUJINON XF90mmF2 R LM WR is both compact and, at 540g, lightweight while the minimum working distance of 60cm delivers a wide shooting range. A newly-developed Quad Linear Motor delivers fast, accurate autofocus, plus the lens also features a weather- and dust-resistant structure that can work in temperatures down to -10°C.

Along with the popular XF56mm F1.2 R, this is a must-have lens for portrait photography fans that favor fast aperture prime lenses. The focal length allows you to shoot at a distance that won’t intimidate subjects, leading to more natural, candid results.

Main Features:

Ultra-sharp images even at the maximum aperture

The optical construction comprises 11 elements in 8 groups, including three ED (extra low-dispersion) elements, which reduces chromatic aberrations to deliver sharp, rich images even at the widest aperture of F2.0.

Beautiful bokeh

The rounded aperture blades combined with an optical construction designed to minimise vignetting creates beautiful circular bokeh right to the edge of the image. In addition, stunning depth is possible in images thanks to the differentiation between the razor-sharp subject and the bokeh in front and behind it.

High-speed autofocus as fast as 0.14sec*2 thanks to a newly-developed Quad Linear Motor

A linear motor is fast, quiet and accurate, but here four magnets are used for higher torque. The high-speed autofocus provides a more versatile shooting experience, allowing users to quickly react to subtle changes in a subject’s facial expression.

Close focusing to 60cm and 0.3x magnification (35mm format equivalent)

The close focusing capabilities of the FUJINON XF90mmF2 R LM WR allow you to isolate key parts of a subject so you can shoot dramatic portraits or close-ups of flowers and insects.

Weather, Dust, and Freeze Resistance

The lens features a weather- and dust-resistant structure with seven seals on the lens barrel. It can also work in temperatures as low as -10°C. This keeps the lens protected from rain, dust and splashes of water when shooting outdoors.

Lightweight and compact

The lens weighs approx 540g, and is compact too, with a filter thread measuring just 62mm. The combined weight with the XF56mm F1.2 R is less than 1kg – great news for portrait photographers who want to travel light and still shoot with prime lenses for sharp images and strong bokeh.

FUJIFILM Corporation is proud to announce that a new FUJINON XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR will be added to the X-Series mirrorless camera line-up in February 2016. With its introduction, the premium mirrorless X-Series range now expands to offer a super telephoto lens.

The FUJINON XF 100-400mm F4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR is a super telephoto zoom lens that covers a 35mm focal length equivalent of 152-609mm. The high performance optical construction of 21 elements in 14 groups includes five ED lenses and one Super ED lens to help reduce chromatic aberration that often occurs in telephoto lenses. As a result, it delivers the highest image quality in its class. The lens has been designed for handheld shooting with a 5.0-stop* image stabilization system and weighs less than 1.4kg. The linear motor realizes fast autofocusing and makes it perfect for shooting fast-moving subjects including aircraft and motorsports. The lens is also both water and dust resistant and can operate in temperatures as low as -10°C, so it is suitable for use in a wide range of outdoor shooting conditions. A fluorine coating has also been applied to the front lens element to repel water and dirt, further improving the toughness of the lens.

Reduced chromatic aberration to help deliver high resolution images

  • The optical construction of 21 elements in 14 groups, which includes five ED lenses and a Super ED lens, delivers results comparable to a fluorite lens, and by reducing axial chromatic aberration it produces images full of detail.
  • The maximum magnification is 0.19x, enabling users to shoot telephoto macro images.

Class-leading 5.0-stop image stabilization

A 5.0-stop image stabilization system – the most powerful in any super telephoto zoom lens – produces blur-free results even at the maximum telephoto setting of 609mm (35mm equivalent). Also, if panning is detected, the lens automatically switches camera shake correction to the vertical plane only.

Fast and quiet AF thanks to twin linear motors

Twin linear motors are used to deliver fast focusing on moving subjects. The motors are so quiet that the lens is ideal for shooting live music performances and theatre productions.

Even faster AF shooting is possible with the focus limiter function, which limits the close focusing point to 5m.

Compact and lightweight design

The FUJINON XF100-400mmF4.5-5.6 R LM OIS WR has a weight of less than 1.4kg which reduces the strain of shooting handheld substantially. When mounted to the FUJIFILM X-T1 body, the combined weight is below 2kg. It enhances user mobility. In addition, the weight distribution of the lens when attached to a body makes it feel lighter than it really is.

Water/dust resistance, -10°C low-temperature operation and fluorine coating

  • The lens features 13 water and dust resistant seals at 12 points, allowing you to shoot with confidence in tough outdoor environments.
  • The fluorine coating applied to the front lens element is water repellent and it is less susceptible to smudges and can easily be cleaned.

Lens hood with a polarising filter window and lock mechanism

  • The lens hood features a sliding window so a polarising filter can still be accessed even when the hood is in place.
  • The hood also features a locking mechanism to keep it securely attached to the lens.

Compatible with the 1.4x Tele converter

The lens offers compatibility with the XF1.4X TC WR tele converter. When attached, it becomes a 140-560mm F6.3-8 or 213-853mm (35mm equivalent). Phase detection AF shooting remains possible, even at F8.

Accessories

A lens plate (MLP-75XF) compatible with ARCA SWISS tripods is available as an optional extra. This plate is also compatible with the XF50-140mm F2.8 R LM OIS WR.

The X-A10 combines a 16.3 megapixel APS-C sensor with the image processing engine that achieves Fujifilm’s excellent photo quality. Sharp FUJINON lenses that boast ultimate image resolution, and the proprietary colour-reproduction technology, refined over more than 80 years, allows users to capture premium quality images in any shooting conditions. Fujifilm is particularly renowned for accurately reproducing skin tones, and the X-A10 is built with this advanced skin tone reproduction capability, allowing you to produce high-quality portraiture.

180-degree slide-and-tilt LCD with 100% visibility for facilitating “self-portraits”

The rear LCD employs the slide-and-tilt mechanism so that even when it is tilted by 180 degrees, the LCD is not blocked by the camera, allowing for 100% visibility. The grip is shaped to accommodate both normal shooting and self-portraits. When taking a self-portrait, you can focus and release the shutter by pressing the vertical command dial found directly below your index finger to minimize camera shake. Rotating the tilting LCD upward by 180 degrees activates the Eye Detection AF to automatically adjust the focus on the subject’s eyes. The X-A10 also features the Portrait Enhancer mode for natural and beautiful skin-tone reproduction.

Compact and lightweight camera body with retro design and intuitive operability

The compact and lightweight X-A10 sports a retro design. The use of two Command Dials means you only need a thumb to quickly adjust aperture, shutter speed and exposure settings. Frequently used functions such as white balance, continuous shooting and the self-timer can be assigned to standalone function buttons, eliminating the need to go through the Menu screens to change settings.

Inheriting FUJIFILM X-A2’s popular performance features

Its energy-efficient design means the X-A10 is capable of shooting approx. 410 frames on a single battery charge. When fitted with the standard zoom kit lens “XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II,” the camera offers the class-leading minimum working distance of approx. 7cm from the front edge of the lens, allowing close-up macro photography.

Outstanding image quality, made possible by the newly-developed 16.3 megapixel image sensor

Fujifilm’s colour reproduction technology, nurtured through the development of photographic film, captures accurate, warm skin tones, clear blue skies and lush green foliage in tones exactly as you remember them.

The APS-C sensor delivers beautifully smooth bokeh effects for portraiture and macro shots when using a shallow depth of field.

The X-A10 offers a total of six Film Simulation modes, namely the true-to-life colours of PROVIA (standard), the vibrant tones and saturated colours of Velvia (vivid), the soft tones of ASTIA (soft), the documentary-style deep colours and soft shades of CLASSIC CHROME, as well as Monochrome and Sepia.

The normal sensitivity range covers ISO200 to ISO6400, while extended sensitivity settings of ISO12800 and even ISO25600 can be selected when you want to minimise camera shake. The X-A10 produces clear images with astonishingly low noise, even on low-light nightscapes and indoor shots where high ISOs are essential.

Advanced Filters help you easily produce creative effects. A total of ten Advanced Filters are available, including the new “Fisheye” and “Cross Screen” as well as Toy Camera, Miniature, Dynamic Tone, Pop Colour, Soft Focus, High Key, Low Key and Partial Colour.

The screen has a slide-and-tilt mechanism so when it is tilted 180 degrees into “selfie-mode”, it can slide out further to ensure the camera body doesn’t block the view.

The grip is shaped to accommodate both normal shooting and self-portraits alike. The final shape, based on ergonomic design, was decided through prototype testing involving hundreds of photographers

When taking a self-portrait, you can take photos by pressing the vertical command dial found directly below your index finger to minimise camera shake. The Self Timer function offers Smile Detection, that take photos automatically when the subject smiles, Buddy Timer which shoots when two people come close together, and Group Timer mode that automatically shoots when a specified number of people come into the frame.

Rotating the tilting LCD upward by 180 degrees activates the Eye Detection AF to automatically adjust the focus on the subject’s eyes.

The X-A10 features a Portrait Enhancer mode, which makes the human skin look smoother and brighter. Enjoy the beautiful skin tonality that only the X Series offers also when shooting selfies

The camera supports charging via USB for maximum convenience, especially while traveling.

Class-leading minimum working distance

When fitted with the standard lens “XC16-50mmF3.5-5.6 OIS II,” the X-A10 can focus on subjects as close as approximately 7cm from the front of the lens allowing you to explore the fantastic world of close-up macro photography.

Super Intelligent Flash

The built-in pop-up flash supports the Super Intelligent Flash system that accurately controls light output according to individual scenes. When shooting indoor portraits in low-light, small items or food, the flash system reduces highlight clipping to produce images exactly as your eyes see them. Natural colours and brightness are also achieved when shooting backlit scenes or photographing a person under intense sunlight that casts strong shadows on the face.

Full HD video recording

Press the dedicated Video Recording button on the rear to easily start recording full HD (1080/30p, 25p, 24p) video.

The Film Simulation function, popularly used for still images, can also be applied to video recording for a diverse range of creative effects, which can be combined with smooth bokeh, made possible with the APS-C sensor and FUJINON lenses to produce professional-looking, creative movies.

Turning on the electronic image stabilisation function delivers the five-axis image stabilisation that combines optical and electronic stabilisation, significantly reducing a variety of camera shakes that could occur during video recording. This function allows you to record high quality video with reduced camera shake while walking around with the camera in your hand.

Versatile shooting functions including the electronic shutter with the maximum speed of 1/32000 sec

When using the ultra-fast electronic shutter, even under clear skies or other bright conditions, you can use large aperture to achieve a shallow depth of field without over-exposing the image. You can capture a scene exactly as intended without having to use an ND filter.

As a result of answering the requests from many users, the X-A10 now features the Panorama and Time Lapse functions.

Other new functions include the interlocking of Metering and AF areas, support for the Adobe RGB colour space, and choice of different colours in Focus Peaking for assisting MF.

Wireless communication functionality enables remote shooting from smartphones and tablet devices

Install the free FUJIFILM Camera Remote app on your smartphone or tablet and use the Wireless Communication function to transfer photos and videos to your device with a simple one-touch operation. You can view and select photos and videos in your camera or on your smartphone and then easily import them to your device. You can even attach GPS location information, obtained by your smart device, to your images.

The Remote Shoot function lets you adjust exposure and other settings, focus and take photos from your smartphone or tablet device. With Remote Shooting, the app not only offers basic operations such as Touch AF and shutter speed adjustment, but also lets you adjust a variety of shooting settings or initiate video recording. It’s great for group photos, self-portraits and even wildlife photography where you might want to compose your shot from a distance.

In March 2011, Fujifilm released the X100, opening up a new market for premium compact cameras. In February 2012, the second generation X100S was released, complete with a newly developed sensor, processor, and an advanced Hybrid Viewfinder. Now, the X100T marks the ultimate evolution as the third generation of the X100 Series, reflecting the feedback from customers for each and every part, including image quality, viewfinder and operability. The X100T is available in both black and silver versions and includes three key changes:

World’s first Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, complete with Electronic Rangefinder

The X100T’s optical viewfinder can simultaneously display the focus area by using the built-in ND filter. Users simply need to turn the camera’s focusing ring for a mechanical rangefinder-style view. Additionally, Focus Peaking and Digital Split Image modes can be selected and the magnification of the focused area can be changed.

With the optical viewfinder, Real-time Parallax Correction has also been added to ensure more accurate framing. Parallax error, which occurs during close-up shooting, is automatically corrected in real time so users no longer having to reframe after focusing.

In addition, reduced display time lag, automatic brightness control, and enhanced Live View settings have been added to the electronic viewfinder providing a more comfortable shooting experience.

Increased operability with the 1/3 stop aperture ring, command dial, 4-way controller, and seven Fn buttons

Until now, setting the aperture in 1/3 steps needed to be done using the command lever. Now, it is done using the aperture ring. Also, the command lever has been changed to a command dial, and with the addition of a four-way controller, operability has been dramatically improved. The X100T is also equipped with seven Fn buttons, each one of which is customisable, while the rear LCD has been ungraded to 1.04M-dot 3-inch monitor, greatly improving visibility.

New Classic Chrome film simulation mode, developed through 80 years of photographic experience

Fujifilm’s unique Film Simulation modes that mimic the effects of photographic films help users to reproduce warm skin tones, bright blue skies and rich green trees. Classic Chrome, which delivers muted tones and deep colours, has been added to the existing selection.

World’s first Advanced Hybrid Viewfinder, complete with Electronic Rangefinder

To facilitate manual focusing while using the Optical Viewfinder, the focus area is enlarged and displayed in the bottom right of the viewfinder. Part of the original optical image is blocked and then the digital EVF display is projected in the resulting space. Manual focusing that was previously difficult with the optical viewfinder is made easier, much like a mechanical rangefinder.

  • Focus Peak Highlight and Digital Split Image can also be selected on the enlarged area, and the magnification of the focused area can be changed.
  • Compared to the X100S, bright frame coverage has been increased from 90% to 92%.
  • Real-time parallax correction has been added for more accurate framing. Parallax, the gap between the shooting range frame and actual shooting range when taking pictures close up, is automatically corrected in real time. Reframing after focusing is no longer necessary.
  • Visibility has improved under a variety of conditions, from bright scenes outdoors to dark scenes indoors, by automatically controlling finder brightness.
  • The Live View display can also be set to “Preview Pic. Effect”, which recreates selected camera effects such as Film simulation modes. Equally, a more natural Live View close to what the naked eye sees can be chosen by turning this option off.
  • The image within the finder is smoother in low light conditions as it is displayed at the maximum frame rate possible.
  • Display time lag, inherent problem with electronic viewfinders, has been significantly reduced.

Increased operability

  • On previous X100 series models, setting the aperture to 1/3 stops could only be done with the command lever, now it can be done using the aperture ring. The exposure compensation dial has been extended to ±3 stops. Also, the command lever has been changed to a command dial, and with the addition of a four-way controller, operability has been dramatically improved.
  • The X100T is equipped with seven Fn buttons, each one of which is customisable. Further user customisation is offered on via the Q Button on the rear of the camera: all 16 functions can be chosen according to the user’s preference.
  • Die-cast magnesium is used for the top and bottom of the body, for a precise, light and highly durable design. A special coating is used for the surface finish, creating a premium feel.
  • The exterior is finished with non-slip synthetic leather, which is durable and resilient.
  • Applying a grooved pattern to the aperture ring, shutter speed dial, and exposure compensation dial improves grip and looks good.
  • The rear LCD has been ungraded to 1.04M-dot 3-inch monitor, greatly improving visibility.
  • Each and every part is made in Japan, for high precision and finish.

Installed with the fastest electronic shutter at 1/32000 sec., expanding the shooting range

A completely silent electronic shutter that is capable of exposures up to 1/32000 sec. has been added. Photos with a shallow depth of field can now be shot with the aperture wide open on snowy fields or the beach under clear skies. As there are no mechanically operated parts, natural facial expressions such as those of sleeping babies can be captured more easily than ever before.

Full HD video with the X-Trans CMOS II sensor

  • Frame rates can be selected from 60fps, 50fps, 30fps, 25fps and 24fps for Full HD movies, supporting worldwide motion picture formats.
  • The world’s first*2 videos can be shot with the optical viewfinder, just like using a film movie camera
  • Film simulation modes can be used on videos to add creative colour effects, plus bokeh can be created by using the lens’s wide maximum aperture.
  • Manual exposure can also be set during video shooting. Aperture, shutter speed*3 and ISO sensitivity can be set, allowing videos to be shot just as the user wishes.
  • A high bit rate of 36Mbps enables clear capture of delicate movement.
  • High-speed, high-precision focusing thanks to Intelligent Hybrid AF, which switches between phase detection AF and contrast AF according to the scene, even during video shooting. Manual focus is also possible.

Panasonic and Fujifilm sharing continues https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7214/panasonic-and-fujifilm-sharing-continues Tue, 11 Jun 2013 02:45:33 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 7214@/talks/discussions After combining LSI efforts they move to sensors.

  • Industry's highest dynamic range of 88dB to prevent highlight clipping and produce a vivid and texture-rich image even in low light
  • 1.2 times higher sensitivity than conventional sensors to capture clear images even in low light
  • Range of incident angle expanded to 60 degrees for faithful color reproduction
  • Offering high reliability for broader applications

FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Shigehiro Nakajima) and Panasonic Corporation (President: Kazuhiro Tsuga) have developed organic CMOS image sensor technology that uses an organic photoelectric conversion layer with a photoelectric conversion property at the light receiving section of an image sensor to achieve performance beyond that of conventional image sensors. Applying this technology to the image sensors of digital cameras and other imaging devices expands its dynamic range and enhances sensitivity*4 further to prevent highlight clipping in bright scenes and capture a dark subject with vivid colors and rich textures.

image

The industry has put into continuous efforts to explore image sensor technologies for increasing their number of pixels. This has dramatically improved sensor resolutions, but, in order to further boost image quality, it is necessary to expand the dynamic range, enhance sensitivity and prevent cross-talk or color mixing between pixels. Panasonic took advantage of its semiconductor device technology to boost image quality for its high-performance image sensors. Fujifilm, on the other hand, has developed highly-reliable organic photoelectric conversion layer with high absorption coefficient to be used on a sensor's light receiving section instead of silicon photodiode5 in its effort to build a new image sensor technology. In the latest collaboration, Fujifilm and Panasonic have combined Fujifilm's organic photoelectric conversion layer technology with Panasonic's semiconductor device technology to jointly develop an organic CMOS image sensor that outperforms conventional image sensors. The new organic CMOS image sensor offers the industry's highest dynamic range of 88dB, advanced sensitivity 1.2 times more sensitive than conventional sensors and broader range of incident angle6 to enable the production of more sensitive and compact cameras with better image quality. The two companies will promote the application of this organic CMOS image sensor technology to a wide range of products including security cameras, in-vehicle cameras, mobile device and digital cameras
