I don't see any mention of HDMI recording so it seems to be all internal codec. I actually like the look of it. It's a different look than the typical Canon look many are used to, but it still looks good to me for an internal codec.

I am disappointed with the quality of the video. It is certainly not as sharp, detailed and free of artefacts as the Panasonic GH2 video. It will be interesting to see what the video is like captured through HDMI.
