did anyone tried the Olympus 9-18mm (4/3 mount) on the GH2 with an adapter? I am interested in buying one, just wanted to know your opinion on this before spending the money. The adapter I want to buy is the "cheap" Viltrox JY-43F (45€) plus the lens Olympus 9-18 (300€ used).

I think this lens would be nice Wide on the Blackmagic Cinema Camera also no?

Need Help with BMPCC (V1) and JuicedLink BMC388 https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/25365/need-help-with-bmpcc-v1-and-juicedlink-bmc388 Thu, 11 Mar 2021 15:52:09 +0000 dernesto 25365@/talks/discussions Hi folks,

for nostalgic reasons, I want to produce a video with my beloved original BMPCC. Therefore I want to pair the camera with a JuicedLink BMC388 preamp. However, the manufacturer doesn't exist anymore and neither do the instructional videos on youtube. There are some tweaks that need to be done in order to make the BMPCC and BMC388 work flawlessly together. Audio meter calibration, input volume...

As all the manuals and instructional videos have vanished from the internet, maybe there's someone on this forum who is familiar with the procedure and can provide me with a short instruction?

I appreciate it! Thank you.

Sony F3 or BMCC (ended up with a Sony F35) https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5511/sony-f3-or-bmcc-ended-up-with-a-sony-f35 Mon, 17 Dec 2012 16:44:48 +0000 mlysbakken 5511@/talks/discussions I have been offered a used Sony F3 for only slightly more than what the Blackmagic Cinema Camera costs. I have long been intent on buying the Blackmagic, but now I'm unsure. I haven't tried any of these cameras personally, so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Which one produces the most attractive image to you? Does one handle motion better than the other? How about low-light and general usability? I'm also uncertain about the advantages of 12 bit RAW over 10 bit S-LOG, as well as 2.7k over 1080p. Will those aspects make a world of difference, and is it worth the hassle?

I guess it's a luxury problem. I've seen amazing stuff from both cameras!

BMCC / BMPCC BozBMDFilm to Rec709 LUT https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16392/bmcc-bmpcc-bozbmdfilm-to-rec709-lut Wed, 01 Feb 2017 06:01:05 +0000 Bozzie 16392@/talks/discussions [Original RAW video by John Brawley DP]

Not to be confused with a ‘Stylized Look LUT’ – I created the BozBMDFilm_to_Rec709 Utility LUT out of a need to make my own color grading life easier when dealing with the Blackmagic BMCC / BMPCC Cinema Camera Film LOG and RAW files. And now I'm making it available to you.

Download Page: https://bulentozdemirfilms.wordpress.com/downloads/bmcc-bmpcc-bozbmdfilm-to-rec709-lut/

The LUT brings out the contrast and color values captured by the BMCC / BMPCC in Film or RAW mode and strives to preserve highlight and shadow detail [more examples can be found on the download page]

Though it's not free, I think the small asking price of £3.00GBP (approx $3.80USD) is enough to take a leap of faith on. Made a difference to my work flow as I’m sure it will with yours :)

As you may know i'm a developer of Angle HDMI Clamp Kit http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16438/bmmcc-angle-hdmi-clamp-lock-kit-module-developed-by-radioproektor of SmallRig BMMCC cage. My next attempt in this line of projects was the camera handle, but it seems things moving slowly and i decide to release Angle Expansion Box Module first. Box uses high quality connectors made by Lumberg (Germany). It takes months to test a lot of different connectors before choose proper ones, especially DC power which should work smoothly with BMMCC power plug same as with another more simple ones. Angle shape provides compact and secure cable management, no more mess of wires around camera. Fits perfectly to size and shape of BMMCC Angle HDMI Clamp Kit. 3D printed body. Compatible with SmallRig and Wooden Camera cages. Compatible with other BMMCC controllers. For request 3.5mm jack can be wired to 2 PWM channels or to S.Bus. Other connectors are 2.5 jack LANC and camera DC power in.

Currently this project is in final stage of development. Hope expansion box will be available in month or so. Price will be around $25-$50. Worldwide shipping with registered air mail about $5.

For more details send me a private message or contact directly to radioproektor (@) gmail . com

Very exciting news!
I once had a Blackmagic Pocket and it was the best looking image that i've ever worked.
Unfortunately i've sold it because it was awful to shoot with it on the streets (doc work). Everything was so buried into the menus. Now i have a Pana G7 but would love to have a Bmmcc with a controller to change ISO, Aperture, shutter etc... on the fly.

Camera Upgrade 4k, Blackmagic, or Not? https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14938/camera-upgrade-4k-blackmagic-or-not Fri, 08 Apr 2016 17:26:43 +0000 AnamatisRmG 14938@/talks/discussions Let me keep this short. I've secured $5000 funding for a camera upgrade. I've been using an FS100 for 3/4 years and have enjoyed low light and 60fps capabilities. I've been freelancing and running my small prod company for the same amount of time and my commercial is reaching new levels, and my clientele is slightly climbing the ladder.

The big question is : Do I need to upgrade to a 4k system to be able to compete next year and the following 3?

If so do I go the Big Ursa route? Or the Ursa Mini 4.6 k. (I may be able to acquire a Big Ursa V1 for $3800)

Either way I'm looking at pairing with an A7s as lowlight isn't a huge muscle with these cameras.

If 4k isn't necessary than I'm looking at an FS700 as over crank is a big component of my work and I maintain low light capabilities.

My main concerns about the Big Ursa are flying it (gimbal, crane, slider, hand held, tripod for that matter)

GH2 - Wise choise for the future? Speedbooster and Canon EF lenses https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14845/gh2-wise-choise-for-the-future-speedbooster-and-canon-ef-lenses Mon, 21 Mar 2016 11:01:50 +0000 testering 14845@/talks/discussions Hi, I hope I got the correct category for this thread. A friend and I share a GH2 with a lot of equipment like crane, tripod, follow focus, shoulder rig, slider etc. We need an advice for lenses we also could use in the future on a newer camera. GH2 is getting old, has to much noise, is not weather resistent and so on.

GH4, a Canon or a Blackmagic camera could be the choice in the future. As far as I figured out if we choose the path with Canon EF lenses we can use them on MFT cameras with Metabones Speedbooster EF to MFT Ultra 0.71x.

  1. Would you advise to use Canon EF mount lenses with Speedbooster instead of native MFT mount lenses? Brands like Rokinon offer mounts in different variations so my plan would be to buy Rokinon lenses as EF mounts and put them on the Speedbooster on MFT devices.
  2. What about powering the speedbooster? Do I need external power source on GH2 if I want to use electronic lenses?
  3. Could you also recommend some wide angle lenses for our GH2?
  4. What do we shoot? Nothing special just basic stuff like nature, streets, indoor, ...

Thanks in advance

I recently acquired the BlackMagic Camera (not the pocket), and I wanted to film a wedding with it. The camera, rig, and battery pack were a combined 35 lbs, so while filming the wedding it felt as if I were working out the whole time. Although I'm sure that the weight issue might of had something to do with me not balancing the rig correctly, I still came out with a wedding that I was proud of. While I don't suggest filming a wedding with the BlackMagic Camera, the flat profile and dynamic range really helped out in a pinch. All in all, I'll need to start some weight lifting if I'm to shoot more weddings with it but I think I prefer the dynamic range it gives me over the resolution of my GH2. Check out my wedding and enjoy!

I am selling this without a warranty as this was a replacement camera as my BMPCC had a bad sensor so they gave me a brand new one, but told me I have now only a 3 month warranty. As I believe the warranty is not transferrable, it is being sold as is.

Recently there were a number of cameras stolen from Black Magic - this is not one of them - this is a legit deal. I can show you my email exchange with Black Magic about the warranty swap out etc.

It comes with 2 batteries - one from the original and one that I assume is in the unopened box.

If you would like me to included a 25mm f 0.95 c-mount lens I will do both the camera and the lens for only $1100.

I have a number of additional c-mount 1" Super 16 mm lenses for sale that will work with this as well.

PM me if you are interested. I am in Sunnyvale CA.
