How do use guys archive your vidoes on hard drive? Do you guys just copy from card to disk or use software? I have start use Lightroom for archive video, i don't know if it is good?

As far as I know no one changed any settings between the last burn and this one. I've found other forums with 15-20 people having the same issue but no one has posted a solution that I've seen. Anybody seen this issue before and been able to troubleshoot it?

WAVI AutoMUX lets you choose directories which contain WAV and AVI files- and it will mux each wav into an avi with matching name.

I coded this some days ago to deal with the tedious muxing of mute AVIs which are created by Resolves processing of DNG sequences, which were recorded with a separate WAV file, like in most DNG recording cameras like Blackmagic, Sony FS700 or Magic Lantern. (at the moment just WAV/AVI, other formats might be added by request)

Is there easier way to find those lightning frames from the video than watch the whole video frame by frame? I have about 2 hours of footage and that would be very boring. Maybe some kind of analyzer software that shows when there's big changes in exposure or something?

Creating The Realistic HDR Image

GH2 froze during long recording. Not sure for how long it remained frozen since the camera was fixed on tripod and I have been messing with sound recorder, all the time checking the red record circle on display, which was frozen, that i haven't figured out immediately. I continued filming after reinserting the battery.

Tomorrow morning, on the card I have 00-03.mts spanned files that are not recognised in Premiere as spans, but all work, and 04 is the beginning of new spanned sequence. I am missing 10 or more minutes of the show (EDIT: between that 03 and 04, to make it clearer).

Does this mean that it crashed on spanning point and that it is pointless to try with recovery software or something..

I shot something today, quite a long take- and sadly the third-party battery I had to use died on me.

It was a second camera from some streetcomedy, so no reshooting there..

I did not use the card afterwards. Now the File is not on the card.

Are there any methods aside from hdd recovery tools? I tried EASEUS Data recovery Wizard, no luck.

Some Windows users had same bug showing differently, when trying to undo, LR applied a preset instead.
SAME WORKAROUND in those cases too =)

Little rant, sorry if you're dating an adobe employee :P

I've been a LR user since version 1 and I don't really know what's going on with the preset indexing or the previewing of images, but since LR 4 it's an awful mess making zero difference being the catalog big or small. That said I’m tired to be continously forced to do things out of my pace and to upgrade / update and find fixings for what seems the pandora box of bugs. For me Lightroom has become very very inefficient, as much as I like grampas, you'll raise hell on earth if you put a 95 year old pot lover directing air traffic at the control tower of a major airport. This is how I feel these days working with LR.

Mavericks doesn't help and neither disabling compressed memory (´sudo nvram boot-args=”vm_compressor=1″´) – actually worsen results – neither purging the memory (´sudo purge´) have had any palpable improvements. So as much I dislike the idea of having yet another step in the process, I started to seriously test Photo Mechanic (which is like the Millenium Falcon to public transportation) and Darktable 1.4.2 (free) as folder based raw image viewers. It has come to a point where I admit that if I hadn’t +35K photos catalogued with LR I’ll switch to other platform… there are certainly better colour engines out there, specially for µFT raws ,-)

Modern violins have beaten Stradivarius-made instruments worth millions in a blind test involving 10 world-class soloists.

The musicians were asked to rate the instruments for sound and playability among other factors and then choose on that they would want to use on a tour.

Strads, as they are known, were made by the famous Stradivari family in Italy in the 17 and 18 century and are widely regarded as the best violins.

The study, by violin maker Joseph Curtin and acoustics expert Claudia Fritz, of Pierre and Marie Curie University in France, was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journal on Monday.

The researcher decided not to reveal the makes of the new violins to avoid appearing as if they were making an advert.

But the most popular and second best violins were both modern instruments. The musicians were also asked to say whether they were playing a new or old violin. They did so successfully 31 times, but were wrong 33 times.
