We are experimenting with a new feature that displays a list of products detected in most videos, as well as related products. The feature will appear in between the recommended videos, to viewers scrolling below the video player. The goal is to help people explore more videos and information about those products on YouTube.

Idea here is to force infuencers to pay for right to upload promotional videos, as well as fully replace their affiliate links with ones that will be fully owned by Google.

Around one year ago I heard rumor from developers (this means that it had been actually developed!) that Goolge will get 30-50% cut from any affiliate link and will replace them to their own. having independent links will result in account instant ban.

Apple must pay $308.5 million to closely held Personalized Media Communications after a federal jury in Marshall, Texas, decided on Friday that the tech giant infringed a patent related to digital rights management.

Personalized Media had sued claiming Apple infringed its patent with technology including FairPlay, which is used for the distribution of encrypted content from its iTunes, App Store and Apple Music applications.

One expert for Sugar Land, Texas-based Personalized Media had calculated Apple owed $240 million in royalties. After a five-day trial, the jurors in Texas ordered Apple to pay a running royalty, which is generally dependent on the level of sales or usage.

Apple said it was disappointed with the ruling and would appeal.

Everything is amazing here. And especially amazing are so called "tech innovators" from Personalized Media and Apple.

Insolation (on chart it is difference between year maximum insolation and current one (june insolation /current month insolation), so most sunny months will be lower on chart) and excess mortality in Moscow are tightly correlated.

Remember - consuming Vitamin D3 in proper form with oil reduce your risks 10-25 times.

Patents: Huawei starts to tax each 5G phone https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/25411/patents-huawei-starts-to-tax-each-5g-phone Sat, 20 Mar 2021 02:51:09 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 25411@/talks/discussions

Shenzhen-based Huawei Technologies announced on Tuesday that it will charge mobile phone manufacturers royalties for using its patented 5G technology.

The company released a white paper on innovation and intellectual property (IP) at its headquarters in Shenzhen on Tuesday, stating that it has become one of the largest patent holders in the world thanks to its sustained investment in innovation.

For each 5G multimode smartphone, the company will provide a reasonable royalty rate on the sale price of the phone and a royalty cap of $2.50 per unit, said Jason Dean, head of Huawei's intellectual property rights department.

This price is lower than some of Huawei's competitors, including the Finnish telecom company Nokia.

Nokia has licensing rate for its 5G SEP (standard essential patent) portfolio at around €3 ($3.58) per device. Ericsson also charges from $2.50 to $5 per device. Around 15 other companies also have their cut (Including Apple).

“We want to showcase our history of innovation over the past 30 years and our long-term commitment to respect, protect and contribute to IP. Through this white paper, we want you to better understand how Huawei became what it is today, ”said Song Luping, Huawei's General Counsel.

Huawei has filed the most international patent applications in this industry. He says his technology is used in all 5G phones.

It is horrible to watch. As in any socialist country any parasite getting money such way must be publically executed.

Capitalism: Hacker and why we'll go the other way https://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/25409/capitalism-hacker-and-why-well-go-the-other-way Fri, 19 Mar 2021 16:54:52 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 25409@/talks/discussions

A Swiss computer hacker named Till Kottmann has been charged by the US government with multiple accounts of wire fraud, conspiracy, and identity theft. The indictment accuses Kottmann and co-conspirators of hacking “dozens of companies and government entities,” and posting private data and source code belonging to more than 100 firms online.

The 21-year-old Kottmann, who uses they / them pronouns and is better known as Tillie, was most recently connected to the security breach of US firm Verkada, which exposed footage from more than 150,000 of the companies’ surveillance cameras. But the charges filed this week date back to 2019, with Kottmann and associates accused of targeting online code repositories (known as “gits”) belonging to major private and public sector entities, ripping their contents and sharing them to a website they founded and maintained named git.rip.

Kottmann told Bloomberg their reasons for hacking were “lots of curiosity, fighting for freedom of information and against intellectual property, a huge dose of anti-capitalism, a hint of anarchism — and it’s also just too much fun not to do it.”

Young , naive and slightly stupid guy.

Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, not yet Lenin, receives news that abruptly changed his life: that his older brother Alexander was executed for organizing the assassination attempt on Tsar Alexander III. And he says to his grief-stricken mother: "We will go the other way."

In 1894, Dmitry Ulyanov asked his brother, according to his memoirs:

We have a lot of old comrades, known to us, why not start and create a terrorist organization?
And what is it for? - objected Vladimir. - Suppose they succeeded in the assassination attempt, would have succeeded in killing the tzar, but what does it matter?
What does it matter?, - Dmitry was taken aback, - would have a tremendous impact on society.
What society? What kind of society do you mean? Is this the liberal society that plays cards and eats stellate sturgeon under horseradish and dreams of a scanty constitution? Do you mean this society? This society should not interest you, we are not interested in it ...

Anti-capitalist agenda must be smarter and targeted to blow tech giants from inside, to set their own workers against owners and top managers.

Internally they are total nightmare, even screws sucks. Electrically it is horror, frequently they just burn out.

UV lamps live around 1/10-1/5 of normal time because they are made by morons. Fans also live 4-8 months and die in pain.

Total lack of filters. UV light leaks.

Nice thing that due to huge price hikes in 2020 - early 2021 they had been mostly replaced by normal domestic devices made by engineers and from more or less proper parts.
