I've been thinking about the attempts to create a GOP 1 AVCHD setting and I was thinking about the fact that we have a perfectly serviceable and hackable MJPEG codec (albeit stuck at 30fps). I'd like to try some experiments to push the mjpeg bitrate higher, or do you think 100Mbps is as good as it gets ?

What I have no clue about is the ratios/relationships between the various table and quality settings. I'm guessing they point the codec to use specific tables under certain conditions (motion related ?). I've tried, by comparing your anamorphic patch vs the original to work out any relationship between the values and I can't spot it. Can you point me at any research, or anything really that explains these values ? I guess you start by setting the highest E4 first and the rest are worked out from that, but yeah I'm guessing. Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
