I got it because I'd like to use some Canon lenses that have no aperture ring. Sadly, corners are not quite as sharp and there is a little more bulging. Also, inside the adapter is less space because of electronics, and some vintage lenses wont fit without cutting protruding pins.

Lens Turbo II (FD to M43) + FD 50mm 1.4 - cant mount lense so aperture works http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16548/lens-turbo-ii-fd-to-m43-fd-50mm-1.4-cant-mount-lense-so-aperture-works Mon, 06 Mar 2017 02:40:43 +0000 baschmir 16548@/talks/discussions Hi dear forum,

I just received my Lens Turbo II and tried to mount my FD 50mm 1.4 but I cant make the aperture work. I bring the red dot of the lens to the yellow dot of the adapter and twist it towards the red dot (so red dot of adapter and lens match up). While I do that i can feel that the metal screw of the adapter is moving the aperture hock (dont know how that is called), but when the red dots are lined up so the entire lens should fit into the adapter to move again in the other direction its not possible because where the screw is placed the lens pops out a bit and is not fitting into the adapter. if I lift the lens a bit and put it back it fits but the metal aperture hock is not in place anymore and when i screw the lens on the aperture ring is not functioning. i have looked for solutions online, found one guy that said for him it worked to make the screw of the adapter bigger with some rubber because in his case the screw was not lined up with the aperture hook of the lens (thats not the same in my case). tired this as well, funnily one time i somehow manage to get the lens on the adapter with the aperture working but after that always the same (it pops out a bit so i cant mount the lens on the adapter). I made a video, hope you can see the problem there

please help!

Allsteady 6 and Gimbal Modes http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12870/allsteady-6-and-gimbal-modes- Sat, 25 Apr 2015 10:58:16 +0000 melf31 12870@/talks/discussions Hey everyone, thanks in advance for your answers. I'm currently in the market for a 3 axis gimbal and the AllSteady 6 has come up as a potential good option for me. I'm also eagerly awaiting the Ronin M but once you've added the joystick its going to come in about $800 over what I can get the Allsteady 6 for.

There aren't many review (or any really) for the all steady but from what I can tell it seems pretty limited in terms of having access to different modes. There are 5 modes which are pre-programmed to:

User Setting 1: Lighter configurations with full follow. (e.g. Panasonic GH4 and the Sony A7S/A6000) User Setting 2: Medium configurations with full follow. (e.g. Canon 5D Mark ii/iii camera with up to 24-70mm & 24-105mm lenses) User Setting 3: Heavier configurations with full follow. (e.g. Canon 5D Mark ii/iii camera with up to 70-200mm & Red Scarlet/Epic/Dragon which requires optional extension brackets or cage upgrades.) User Setting 4: Lighter configurations with disabled joystick under multirotor or with optional wireless joystick to work on top of tripods or under crane. User Setting 5: Medium configurations with disabled joystick under multirotor or with optional wireless joystick to work on top of tripods or under crane.

Their idea being that once you receive the gimbal you'll never have to adjust any PID settings since they have presets that should have you covered. However what this means in reality is that you only really have 2 modes to use - "full follow" and "Wireless joystick". Your other 3 modes are taken up with presets for cameras you may or may not use. And if you're operating a heavier camera then its just one mode!

I called Turbo Ace about this and they said they would pre-program any mode(s) you needed for your order, but that would take up one of the 5 slots. That would be fine if you knew what camera you'd be flying for your duration of your ownership of the gimbal but if, say 6 months down the line, you change cameras and you go up or down a weight bracket you'd have to send the gimbal back to Turbo Ace for them to re-program the gimbal. They'd charge for this a rate of something like $150 per hour.

Now I've never owned or operated a gimbal before but it seems a bit strange to me to be kinda locked in to what ever you have when you order the gimbal, unless you're willing to pay up. It would be great to know from other Gimbal owners if the "full follow" mode is enough. The gimbal comes with a thumb joystick btw.

Are any AllSteady 6 owners who can give some feedback on their experience so far?

Thanks

I need some help understanding the Speedbooster for M43 http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12168/i-need-some-help-understanding-the-speedbooster-for-m43 Tue, 13 Jan 2015 17:44:59 +0000 magellan14 12168@/talks/discussions I have a Panasonic GH3 and am considering the Mitakon Lens Turbo for M43 to Canon EOS EF. I understand this adapter gives an extra stop of light and allows me to use 35mm glass. My question is, how do I determine what the f-stop will be and focal length of a full frame lens once equipped with the lens turbo? For example, if I attach a Canon 50mm f1.4, would the focal length still be 50mm and the f-stop still 1.4 - or would it be less?

I appreciate your help,

Fotodiox, Excell, Lens Turbo analogs for m43 and NEX http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7356/fotodiox-excell-lens-turbo-analogs-for-m43-and-nex Wed, 26 Jun 2013 01:57:22 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 7356@/talks/discussions image

The Vizelex Light Cannon from Fotodiox Pro is an advanced lens mount adapter that not only attaches a Nikon Lens (including G & D type) to a Micro 4/3 (MFT) camera body, but has added light focusing optics which makes the lens wider by a 0.72x factor and increases the maximum aperture of the lens by 1 stop. This effectively allows use of your 35mm lenses on a crop sensor camera and not lose the angle of view normally associated with lens mount adapters (ie, 50mm lens stays roughly a 50mm lens equivalent).

Additionally, this light focusing optic gives a faster than normal aperture, turning a f/2.8 into the equivalent of a f/2.0; perfect for shooting in low light situations, when you need a faster shutter speed, or want a lower ISO sensitivity! The blue dial on the adapter is an aperture adjustment dial which allows the iris to be adjusted on even the Nikon G & D lenses; on older Nikon lenses with a aperture dial on the lens, the blue dial on the adapter can act as a depth of field preview lever allowing you to switch back and forth between wide open and stopped down to a certain f-stop.

As with all Fotodiox Pro series adapters, these adapters have been specially crafted to endure professional use. The leaf spring design in the adapter holds the lens tight to the camera body ensuring there is no play between the camera and the lens. The all metal design and polished surface is designed to guarantee a smooth mounting and long lasting experience. With unique styling, the lens mount adapter maintains a professional appearance. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. Because of this “stop-down mode” will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is guaranteed

  • Crop Factor Gain 0.72x
  • Aperture Control Yes via Adapter
  • from $149

FS: Lens Turbo M42 to Micro Four Thirds http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10506/fs-lens-turbo-m42-to-micro-four-thirds Sun, 01 Jun 2014 10:17:17 +0000 cantsin 10506@/talks/discussions Selling an unused Lens Turbo M42 (Praktica/Pentax screw mount) to Micro Four Thirds for 40 Euro + 10 Euro postage, in its original package, EU only.

I unfortunately haven't been able to use this adapter because it doesn't fit the Blackmagic Pocket Camera. This problem is acknowlegded by RJ and seems to be related to non-standard measures of the Pocket's MFT mount. This adapter fits Panasonic GH cameras with no trouble (tested it with the GH1 and GH2).

(If you're interested to buy it, please drop me a personal message.)
