In this thread I would like to know what is the best slider setup for small cameras.

Here's mine:

 • For wedding and run 'n gun work: Manfrotto 055XPRO4 + Konova k2 60cm + 701HDV head.
 • For studio work: two stands at the edges of an IGUS 100cm + 701HDV head.

The first one is very quick and smart but I have to try it with a leveling plate under the slider.

Post yours!

BMD Ultrastudio mini recorder(thunderbolt) + GH3 + Wirecast for streaming http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8577/bmd-ultrastudio-mini-recorderthunderbolt-gh3-wirecast-for-streaming Mon, 28 Oct 2013 01:13:41 +0000 andrevanberlo 8577@/talks/discussions Hey everyone,

To do some live streaming I’ve looked at many solutions and this one seems (at this point) the most ideal for my multi camera setup : hook up 3 gh3’s to 3 Ultrastudio mini recorders with thunderbolt and use wirecast to do the streaming and encoding on the mac pro/hackintosh.

I’ve seen however some conflicting messages on forums where it seems that the GH3 signal will not pass through the mini recorder, so does any one have experience with this? Can anyone confirm the mini recorder works with the GH3 and wirecast?

I believe the GH3 has 4:2:0 out and the codecs supported by the mini recorder are: AVC-Intra, AVCHD, Canon XF MPEG2, Digital SLR, DV-NTSC, DV-PAL, DVCPRO50, DVCPROHD, DPX, HDV, XDCAM EX, XDCAM HD, XDCAM HD422, Apple ProRes 4444, Apple ProRes 422 (HQ), Apple ProRes 422, Apple ProRes (LT), Apple ProRes 422 (Proxy), Uncompressed 8-bit 4:2:2, Uncompressed 10-bit 4:2:2.

So perhaps the GH3 might not work due to different colorspace?

Here a post where you see a setup using to minirecorders thunderbolt + usb camera to stream live with wirecast: htttp://forum.telestream.net/forum/messageview.aspx?catid=45&threadid=13444 The guy doesn't use a dslr but dedicated camera but you can use the mini recorders with wirecast, only question is, will it work with the GH3?!

Hope one of you can shed some light on this matter

What GH2 lens setup should I go with? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9687/what-gh2-lens-setup-should-i-go-with Fri, 21 Feb 2014 22:16:51 +0000 regaliafilms 9687@/talks/discussions Hey, so I've had a GH2 for a bit now, and I'm in need of some nice lenses, I did some research and I came up with two different lens setups. Can't decide which one I should pick so if the community here could help me it would be very wonderful.

SETUP 1: Panasonic LUMIX G 20mm f/1.7, Sigma 30mm f/1.4, Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II

SETUP 2: Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8, Nikon 28mm f/2.8D AF Nikkor , Nikon 50mm f/1.4D AF Nikkor Lens

I'm going to be filming for the most part, short films, and I want lenses that will give me a nice cinematic feel? (can't find the right word to use here) But, just want to get your guys' opinions on these setups and what you guys think I should do. I am on a budget here so if you are going to make other suggestions for setups please try to keep it below $850. Thanks!

GH2 Feature Film Setup http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6671/gh2-feature-film-setup Thu, 11 Apr 2013 17:03:34 +0000 Mckinise 6671@/talks/discussions Making a feature film with the GH2. It will be single camera. Shot over the summer. I have the actors, crew, script, etc.

Mission: Learn how to create and avoid GH2 visual hangups.

Setup: Flowmotion 2.02 24H Sony Vegas 12 (Basic Editing) External Recording setup utilizing Booming and Wireless

Concerns (How to cause it) (How to Avoid)

Vignetting:

Banding:

Judder:

ISO Bug (I am well versed on that one)

Not too concerned with shooting flat. Going to be lighting things pretty close to how I want them. No really dark scenes.

Action:

Hand to hand combat, A foot chase, Driving, but will use green screen and Go Pro for that.

Suggestions for Best Camera + Lens for ~$1K http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5521/suggestions-for-best-camera-lens-for-1k Tue, 18 Dec 2012 16:42:44 +0000 jsteg094 5521@/talks/discussions Hello,

I've spent weeks researching, and I've decided to turn to some aficionados.

First up, Camera: I've found that the GH2 is the best price/performance camera. Is this still true today, or are there better ones, such as the Olympus E-M5? Or, would it be best to wait -- do you think there will be anything extraordinary worth waiting for in the first few months of 2013?

Lastly, Lens: I've seen some people use old TV SD 2/3" Lenses, like B4 and C-Mount, etc. Are these worth it? I've heard that (for the most part), the IQ isn't very good, and there's a large amount of work (modifications) to get them to work.

Should I instead be looking at native lenses, like the Leica 25mm? Lots of people talk about anamorphic lenses, and the Voigtlander f/0.95. It seems like almost everyone raves about the Voigtlander, and while it seems expensive, is it truly worth it (price/performance) over say the Panny 20mm or even the Leica 25mm?

Thank you for taking the time to read this, and I hope this topic helps others as well! -Josh

Building a wireless hidden cam setup for on-the-road filming! http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/806/building-a-wireless-hidden-cam-setup-for-on-the-road-filming Tue, 30 Aug 2011 09:38:32 +0000 fatpig 806@/talks/discussions
I thought about combining a mini spy cam:

with this wireless transmitter:

using 2 of these batteries:
http://www.ebay.de/itm/Portable-5V9V12V-DC-Rechargeable-CCTV-Li-ion-battery-ep-/260815354736?pt=DE_Foto_Camcorder_Akkus&hash=item3cb9ce7b70

and record it with a laptop!

My Questions:

1. does anyone know if it is possible to attach TWO different devices to this one battery (different voltages) at the same time?

2. does anyone have experience with the mini spy cam? I know its the cheapo type, regarding picture quality and viewing angle?
i couldnt find any samples

Thanks in advance!

Greetings]]>
