June 28, 2015 | “Funny How? Am I a clown? Here to fucking amuse you?” Yes. At least when it comes to Joe Pesci. Apparently the necessity for good, seasoned Hollywood actors is drying up: Pesci and De Niro have been spotted moonlighting as clowns at children’s parties in Los Angeles. The report was originally picked up by the AP when Pesci allegedly began yelling at a particularly insolent kid, “What the fuck are you doing? You’re hanging around my fuckin’ neck like a vulture, [...]

Aurora - Twisted Robot Love Story http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6828/aurora-twisted-robot-love-story Sun, 28 Apr 2013 04:55:14 +0000 DaveVegas 6828@/talks/discussions Hey everyone! After my last film "Population Zero" (which was shot entirely on a hacked GH2 with Canis Majoris hack) I'm working on my new film Aurora! It's a twisted robot love story about a young man who wakes up 60 years after a car accident only to find himself lost in a dystopic world run by machines.

Even though we're shooting on the RED Epic we're also going to shoot a B-Camera with GH2 material, because I think that these two will match perfectly in post and the GH2 doesn't have to hide itself from the big players.

Anyway, we created a Kickstarter campaign for the project, here it is: http://aurorafilm.org/kickstarter

If you like it, maybe you could spread the word. Let me know what you think about it, you guys were here for me, so thank you! Best Robert

Population Zero - Short shot on GH2 http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6121/population-zero-short-shot-on-gh2 Thu, 14 Feb 2013 08:13:37 +0000 DaveVegas 6121@/talks/discussions Hi all!

After using RED and ARRI cameras for most of my shoots I was really impressed with this little camera and how well it performed.

Population Zero is my latest short film. Check it out :)

After an alien life form visited planet earth our fate was sealed. Two years later one of the last survivors is desperately trying to find out if there's still anyone out there. Haunted by the past he doesn't seem to see the obvious when he finds a boy in an abandoned house.

I used Canis Majoris hack (Day and Night) and following lenses:

  1. Voigtländer Nokton 25mm F0.95 Prime Lens

  2. SLR Magic Hyperprime 50mm F0.95 Lens

  3. SLR Magic Hyperprime 12mm T1.6 Lens

  4. Panasonic Pancake 20mm F1.7

  5. Canon 50mm f1.4 (For zooms, 100mm)

Best Rob

Music and Art http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5577/music-and-art Mon, 24 Dec 2012 19:07:23 +0000 DrDave 5577@/talks/discussions For my art and music show, I had been thinking for quite a while now about Robert Altman's use of extended depth of field in his movie "Prairie Home Companion." In his movie, Altman often stops the lens down to capture the ensemble feeling on the stage, sort of the opposite of using shallow DOF to highlight a soloist. So I decided to try and use this effect in the wide angle shots in this video--I used the Panasonic mini-pancake 14mm/2.5 at F4 (more was grainy). Nice to have the whole stage reasonably well in focus. Flowmotion II on lowest setting, as it was a concert and I needed the card space and reliable spanning. Unfortunately the heater blower was on during this winter show, I decided to leave most of the noise in and just roll off some of the rumble.
