FS: DSLR cage with top handle, top rails, cold shoe, and HDMI lock http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11120/fs-dslr-cage-with-top-handle-top-rails-cold-shoe-and-hdmi-lock Mon, 25 Aug 2014 15:54:09 +0000 josh_chiara 11120@/talks/discussions Awesome cage for a A7s or similar camera. Will work with a 5d or similar without a handgrip also.

Comes with top handle, top rail mount, cold shoe, and HDMI lock.

Cold shoe can be moved anywhere on the cage.

All metal and super solid. I was using it with my A7s and it was great. I have decided to go Kinemini 4k, so I no longer have a need for this cage.

Top rails not included.

Paid a little over $300 for the whole thing about a month ago.

$210 shipped any where in the US. I'll ship worldwide but the actual cost of shipping will need to be paid. P.M. me for a quote.

Quick release adapters and QR plates http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/280/quick-release-adapters-and-qr-plates Fri, 24 Jun 2011 18:56:08 +0000 Zoke 280@/talks/discussions Alternative for Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect Adapter in rigs? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4447/alternative-for-manfrotto-577-rapid-connect-adapter-in-rigs Sat, 01 Sep 2012 13:39:36 +0000 QuickHitRecord 4447@/talks/discussions Incorporated into a straight rig, the Manfrotto 577 Rapid Connect Adapter just slightly offsets the camera from the the rods (see picture) so that they no longer line up in a straight line. It's a nuisance. Anyone know of a cheap Chinese alternative that accepts Manfrotto's standard 501PL plates that won't do this?

Quick Release solutions for One Camera and multiple Devices? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4717/quick-release-solutions-for-one-camera-and-multiple-devices Wed, 26 Sep 2012 00:31:15 +0000 goanna 4717@/talks/discussions There are plenty of Quick release solutions available - but most involve some kind of vendor lock-in.

This video doesn't help re a universal solution; like most, it simply encourages buyers to buy an entire matching set of devices. But at least it gets the one camera > many devices message across.

Does anyone know of a solid DSLR system where you could ideally buy, say, Several Base Plates (AKA clamps) with (1) camera plate?

That way, we'd have a camera plate on our camera, which stays on. There's a tripod waiting with a base plate assembly already attached; also a stabiliser, a shoulder rig and a triangle dolly - all with base-plates ready for truly quick attaching of the camera.

Now, is that too much to ask, without buying a plethora of camera plates/base plate sets, each in its own blister pack?

GH3 - Worth waiting? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1362/gh3-worth-waiting Fri, 04 Nov 2011 17:56:40 +0000 Alexauwa 1362@/talks/discussions
I am thinking about getting the GH2, but lately read an interesting article about the GH3 coming out with some great features such as AVCHD 2,0, 60p mode and better low light functionality.

Do you think is it worth waiting? Has there been any release date mentioned yet?

Looking forward to your replies.

Best,
Alex]]>

What Kind of Quick Release Plate do I Need for a Stabilizer? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/192/what-kind-of-quick-release-plate-do-i-need-for-a-stabilizer Tue, 07 Jun 2011 09:30:13 +0000 Toronto 192@/talks/discussions
http://www.glidecam.com/product-1000-pro.php

There are all kinds of various quick release plates on ebay but some seem to be only half of a kit, different sizes, too big, too small, etc.

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=quick+release+plate&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=&_trksid=p4340.m570

If you look at the photo, the sliding plate at the top of the glidecam only has a few centimeters of space between the base plate, so the bottom part has to be thin enough to fit inside the 2 plate areas but I have no idea how to differentiate between something that will work and something that won't and I don't have money to experiment buying various ones, I would like to get one that will work the first time.

If anyone can help me please check out ebay or elsewhere and send me a few links of plate kits (both the piece that will be permanent attaching from underneath the top plate of the stabilizer, and the piece that will then attach onto that first piece, then the 3rd piece or second piece that is permanently screwed into the camera that has some sort of switch function that would be easy to get to under a GH1 so that the camera can be easily attached and removed to the first or second piece without anything needing to be retightened after balancing every time you want to take off, put back on, take off, put back on.

Thanks very much.]]>
