Contax lenses to Canon EF + Speed Booster http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10258/contax-lenses-to-canon-ef-speed-booster Sat, 26 Apr 2014 09:37:21 +0000 spencerb 10258@/talks/discussions I have a Panasonic GH3 and am investing in some old Zeiss Contax Yashica glass. I intend to use the Metabones Speed Booster with them but also want to keep my options open in the future.

  • Safe Option 1: Buy Metabones Speed Booster in Contax/Yashica -> Micro Four Thirds mount. Connect C/Y Zeiss glass. Profit.

  • Theoretical Option 2: Buy Metabones Speed Booster in Canon EF -> Micro Four Thirds Mount. Adapt Zeiss C/Y glass to Canon EF mount. This allows me to share lenses with Canon bodies if necessary and also mount standard Canon EF glass to the Speed Booster as well. With the limited range of wide angle Zeiss C/Y glass available this also could make things easier. It saves me buying multiple $400 Speed Boosters.

Question is: Is there any reason NOT to do option 2? I know it will allow a greater chance of error in the adaptors, but will the C/Y -> Canon EF even mount to a Canon EF -> MFT Speed Booster? Is this entire idea completely stupid or have I stumbled on accidental brilliance?

THANKS!

For sale: SLR Magic cine 50mm T0.95 (based in Germany) http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9675/for-sale-slr-magic-cine-50mm-t0.95-based-in-germany Thu, 20 Feb 2014 08:59:19 +0000 Tobsen 9675@/talks/discussions Hello,

I am considering to sell my great SLR Magic cine 50mm T0.95 (non RF coupled) in leica M mount. It is super sharp even wide open! Perfect if you own other SLR Magic lenses to complete a matched set. I used it only occacionally on private projects. It is basically in a new condition. It DOES have some tiny dust particles inside that were there even when it was brand new, but they don't affect the picture quality at all.

I am not giving it away for cheap, because it is a great lens. I still feel bad about selling it, but I need mone for other investments.Sadly.

I am asking 2000 Euro ecl. shipping for it. Official Sales price in Europe is 2399 pounds! Compared to the prices at SLR MAgic UK and other places, this is a bargain.

It will also include a 62mm Hoya UV FIlter. It doesn't come with original Box.

Here are some pics:

Panasonic Anamorphic adapter http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9604/panasonic-anamorphic-adapter Wed, 12 Feb 2014 14:29:18 +0000 tokyo187 9604@/talks/discussions Hello again! I am wondering about the right decision in choosing an anamorphic option. There are so many, that have become rareties in some respect. There is the Panasonic AG-LA7200 16:9 Anamorphic Lens Adapter, which is average price is 1000 dollars. Than we have a Century Precision adapter, which is harder to find, but a cheaper pick-up, that seems to provide intense flares. Now we also have the endless array of anamorphic projector lenses, adapted with lens clamps and such, that some say is better, and some say not so much. These include Kowa(which do look pretty nice sporting a 2x Anamorphic, ranging from 100 bucks to over 700, Isco-Optic focusing ana proj lens, and the Sankyoscope anamorphot 1.5x including a +0.5 diopter, focus through, which I haven't found for less than 1000 dollars, and I'm not sure how much the diopter will assist me, but anyhow there are many more, which I'm sure most are aware of. I am just hoping to get a little more insight into what the best and most effective options are.

Thank you Kindly, -Trev

I wanted to start this thread as a possible reference source for all the gear/accessories that are mutually compatible with both cameras to help everyone who is in the same position to save money in the long-term.
