Initial impressions after playing with it for short:

I really like quality, all but filter frames and their side holding stuff are from metal.
Feels really sturdy.
Has four flags (top, bottom, and two side flags).
Flags (and all mattebox :-) ) are much better than indian stuff, thicker, better made, internal sides are covered with dark velvet.
Right now it feels like one of the best gear purchases.

I'll later try to review it in more detail, but after more real work.

Btw they no longer have this awful screws heads on top of inside velvet on flags, now they use proper screws with flat heads that are below velvet.

Matte boxes for use on a steadicam http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5971/matte-boxes-for-use-on-a-steadicam Thu, 31 Jan 2013 18:13:05 +0000 kronstadt 5971@/talks/discussions What kind of matte box solution have you got for situations when your GH2 is on a steadicam stabilizer?

When using a camera stabiliser (steadicam, glidecam etc) it's very unlikely that you are going to put the whole rig on with rod holder, rods, FF, MB etc --that's just too heavy, unless, of course, you have a steadicam vest - and most people here don't. Plus, there is the practical irrelevance of using a FF while the camera is on a stedicam (unless of course, you have a separate focus puller person who is using a remotely operated FF - most people here don't).

So the solution is often to take your naked GH2 and place it on the steadicam just as it is. The problem then are the flares. So I thought of getting one of those rubber lens shades that can be easily stuck to the lens, but the problem with those is that they are not always catered for wide angle lenses.

My question: have you ever seen a rubber lens shade that could be attached directly to the lens, but at the same time have collapsible increments like this?

Matte box with Cokin P filters http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/597/matte-box-with-cokin-p-filters Fri, 05 Aug 2011 10:22:01 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 597@/talks/discussions

You can find it at ebay, search for Veedion.

I have similar MB for quite a long and while it is not the best possible MB,
it is very useful and if you'll manage to grab good quality Cokin filters it could be good option.]]>
