Need Clarification on the new Lumix 12-35 II & 35-100 II Lenses

I'm looking for clarification on the new Panasonic Lumix 12-35 II & 35-100 II lenses. I already have a 12-35 & 35-100, what are the benefits of these news lenses if you're getting a GH5 compared to the version 1?

Is it worth the upgrade?

Panasonic Lumix GH5 Testing Requests

My name is Tyler Knight, I am a Lumix Ambassador and LumixStories.ca Storyteller in Canada.

I will be receiving a pre-production unit to test next week and want to put it through its paces. I will have access to the body, xlr adapter, battery grip, and the new 12-60 Leica kit lens.

Please comment below with your test requests and any specifics and I will do my best to accommodate! Let me know the features that you're really excited to see, and features you've seen examples of but have questions about. I will have it for approximately 2-3 weeks and will be doing a daily vlog showcasing as much as possible.

As stated in the other thread, I have many scheduled shoots already as I am a full time videographer/photographer and will be using this as a chance to really see how it performs in a real-world setting!

Once the requests come in and videos come out, I would like to assemble them in a stickied post at the top of this thread if possible with the type of test, and the link beside it (eg. GH5 low light comparision to GH4 and G85)

I have a large collection of vintage lenses I will be testing, as well as comparing lumix lenses across my other Lumix cameras such as GH4, G85 (G80) and GX85 (GX80)

Lumix g6 25 fps (MP4)

I am shooting a feature film and I am trying to shoot in 24fps but I do not want to use avchd. My mp4 mode on the g6 doesn't have a 24 or 25 fps All I have is 30 and 60fps. Does anyone else know what I am talking about? Check out the image I have attached.

Eylca : control FZ1000 (and other Lumix cameras) from an android app

I made an android app which allows to control a lumix camera remotely. It is based on the amazing work of @lenuisible It aims at extending the possibilities of what your camera can do. At this point, it allows some really really basic control, and motion detection.

It is still at an early development stage, and I can only test it on the FZ1000.

HACKING AND/OR INSTALLING

The app is free and opensource.

USING THE APP

Please disable burst mode on your camera. It is not handled yet. Start the wifi on your camera, connect your phone to the wifi of the camera, and launch the app.

Basic control

The app allows to see what the camera sees, and to control the camera manually to some extend. Right now, we can only take pictures, videos, zoom in and out and focus in and out. The controls for zooming and focusing don't support long click yet, but it will get better soon.

Motion detection

The main purpose of the app is to do things that you can't do with only your camera, or with Panasonic app.

At this point, the main feature is to shoot or record a video when a motion is detected in what the camera sees. You can control this detection with 2 parameters: a threshold, and a parameter to tell the size of the object which may appear in the camera stream. These 2 parameters can be changed on the fly. I recommend that you start motion detection in "do nothing" mode, when you want to set the parameters without taking multiple useless photos. Please note that motion detection has to be restarted if you change between "do nothing", "continuously shoot" or "record video".

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you don't see what the camera sees in basic control mode, check the camera ip in the settings of the app, and change it if necessary. You may also need to disable mobile data.

FUTURE

In the futur, I'd like to add focus bracketing, and scripting. If you have any idea which could extend the camera's features using remote control, please don't hesitate to share ! Also don't hesitate to give feedback.

What we know so far:

16 Cameras
Uses image computation to render 360 VR & 3D VR Scene, AKA Lightfield
Image computation may be too power hungry to run on a single computer- (maybe Google Compute?)
Youtube is now 360VR Aware- use python script to activate- with equirectangular video (4k looks like max)
GoPros have an extended battery (possibly the orange thing in the photo)
GoPros are also synced
Google experimenting with best material for UFO. Plastic - Metal - Wood - Unobtainium, final design will be available online
Looks like there may be a fisheye element on front of each camera, (otherwise how is the top & bottom captured)

Hello. This project was all filmed with a (sometimes 2) GH4, almost all in V-Log recorded to a Ninja Assassin (the 2nd when used was recording to a Video Assist). We used a lot of lenses, from Voigtlander and Panasonic to Samyang with SpeedBooster XL, passing through some Chinon and Fujian 25mm C-Mount, allways with SLR Magic anamorphic adapters, we wanted the unsqueezed look.

Rare hard to find Golden GH1 variation sold in Japan only in limited quantities I believe. It was hacked recently with the best possible settings after extensive research on forums. The camera was originally in Japanese before the language was switched to English after the hack. Well taken care of. Video quality rivals the hacked GH2 with the hack applied. I may post a sample video if I have time. The hack/patch allows you to switch between NTSC and PAL modes, supports multiple language selection, unrestricted recording time, and third-party batteries.

Shutter count only 5374!! (see picture).

In like-new condition, hardly used, only to verify my self how it matches with the GH4, but because of VLOG, I'll go for a second GH4 instead. I absolutely love the G7 as it's amazing little light camera! Better ISO than GH4 in all modes, but no VLOG that I personally prefer.

In original box of course and all the original accessories: strap never used, battery, charger, manuals, dvd, usb cable, etc (plus the 2 extra batteries & the 1 extra charger!). This is the US version with 24 + 30! (so better than the 24 + 25 of the European cameras).

As per the title I have my Lumix GH4 body for sale. It is in mint condition and was bought in April last year. Light use only. Also included is the DMW- BGGH3 battery grip. This is mint and unused. Two third party batteries also included.

It's been a while since I've had time to post anything on the forum, but I have been holding out for something big!

I was approached by Panasonic several months ago to speak at the Canadian G7 release in Toronto on my experience with Panasonic cameras and my move to 4K video.

Since that time, more opportunities have come to light and I couldn't be more excited to share this with everyone!

Panasonic Canada has created a new website called http://www.lumixstories.ca which highlights several videographers and photographers and I was lucky enough to be featured on the site for my work with the gh1 through gh4. Have a look through the site and check out some of my work as well as some of the other talented shooters!

On top of that, I will be in Halifax, Nova Scotia this long weekend to do an in-store hands-on test day at Henry's with the G7 and new GX8 as well as teaching a 1 hour workshop on my 4K video workflow in Adobe Premiere!
