Such as Steadicam is too big to be used for narrow scene, and too heavy for long shot. And the fatal weakness is the difficulties for beginners to start in a short time trial, users must take a long time of training to familiar with Steadicam and use it well. With wrong posture, it is counter-productive to keep stable. Still, usually we need to spend a long time on Steadicam for adjustment and balancing.

image

Turned the standard notion of 50-year Steadicam’s structure, 5-axis spring arm is Nebula’s original design, inspired by the damping system of F1 racing cars.

image

The effect of double spring arm in contraposition is both rebound and absorbing. But the mass of stabilizer and camera appropriately maintains inertial. Except the intentional tremor, the two spring arms can absorb any vibrations and bounces under payload acting on the vertical axis. With this kind of buffer, reduces vibration, retards speed, makes shooting more smooth even facing hard bumps.

image

They are just like the vehicle suspension system, on the one hand isolates road noise, bumps, and vibrations, on the other hand provides enough sustenance for stabilizing car body while making a turn. Besides vertical axis, with different spring tension, the two spring arms are also able to filter part of the vibrations on horizontal axis.

image

image

Two dovetails are added on spring arm, to show the flexibility of combinations. The standard 1/4 screw hole also makes it easy to carry most of the photography accessories. Every detail we designed is for filmmakers in search of 2 “P”s: professional and possibilities. Double spring arm in contraposition turns the standard notion of spring arms in line, in order to spread bounces caused by photographers’ step while moving over two handles. Thus perfectly reduces the jitter and jerking and improves users’ manipulation of stabilizers.

FS : Came Mini 1 3 Axis Stabiliser http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15092/fs-came-mini-1-3-axis-stabiliser Thu, 19 May 2016 03:26:13 +0000 Sph1nxster 15092@/talks/discussions Came Mini Version 1 for sale - UK seller

Includes:

Came Mini Stabiliser Balance Stand Carry Case (Padded) Joystick Control 8 x 18650 batteries (large capacity)

Does not include original charger as in my opinion it is not safe to use. Would recommend buyer purchases a D4 Digicharger (£30) Batteries are fully charged so it could be used straight out of the case.

I have modified the PID settings very slightly in the following way:-

  • I have changed the joystick control to allow tilt up and down and left and right roll (default is tilt and pan)
  • I have increased power very slightly to try and reduce the amount of bounce and on the setup shown in the picture this proved to be very successful
  • I added callibration modes to user settings 4 & 5 for on the fly re-callibration when needed.

These settings can be reversed with a little knowledge of the SimpleBGC software and I would be more than happy to assist potential buyer with this. However, I personally feel these settings make it better and much more usable for run and gun type situations.

Some examples of the gimbal in use can be found in all these films:-

  • ( 45 seconds )

£425 - please PM

Thanks, Steve

Wanted to know whether anybody has got the Sigma 18-35+Metabones Speedbooster Ef-Mft+Panasonic GH4 combo working on it or is it too front heavy?

Any PID settings alterations which might make it work?

Would love to not have to spend more to buy a Tokina 11-16 to make it up and running. Thanks in advance.

I was quite impressed of the footage quality after using LUTs, because I shot at ISO 2000 at least and I have seen worst. Not the biggest fan of Drum & Bass music, but it still turned out nice. Hope you like it

FS: Varavon Birdycam II Gimbal http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13368/fs-varavon-birdycam-ii-gimbal Sun, 12 Jul 2015 12:32:29 +0000 JackBayer 13368@/talks/discussions Hi!

I am selling my Birdycam II to get some money for a bigger setup.

It comes with 2 batteries and all original parts and has been working totally fine, since it came back from South Korea a few months ago where Varavon kindly replaced board and motors (or sensors...I don´t know, they never told me. But the wiring striked me a bit different than before. Anyway the main thing is that it works!). I am happy to ship to anywhere in the world.

Here´s a video of it from today:

(out of focus at the beginning, first (and last) time shooting with a 5D III. :D )

€ 1.200 and it's yours!

PS: Sorry for unintentionally breaking the rules just before!

Best gimbal for lightweight (mirrorless) cameras http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12643/best-gimbal-for-lightweight-mirrorless-cameras Thu, 19 Mar 2015 08:20:26 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 12643@/talks/discussions Between the current economic supports which would be the better choice?

I have seen videos where the Nebula 4000 its ok, another where are deficient. The Pilotfly H1 is in the same line of Nebula, preliminary tests are encouraging, but those videos are made by the manufacturer and dont know the conditions under which they were made, it is always see better user testing in the real world, but its very new. The third option is the Came Mini, but here the price is more expensive.

Help me to decide: Pilotfly H1 or Ipower 3-Axis http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12904/help-me-to-decide-pilotfly-h1-or-ipower-3-axis Fri, 01 May 2015 10:33:44 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 12904@/talks/discussions I need some inexpensive gimbal and Pilotfly H1 look like the best option for light cameras. The Ipower 3-Axis brushless gimbal its a very cheap option for U$498, but with few references. Virtually the 4000 Nebula is interesting, but seeing the tests isnt very convincing and in my country no stores that have these to test, so I have to choose the most suitable.

Im open to another options, but under U$700.

Thanks friends.

Easy to handle and difficult to lose on the set. It will eliminate the constant search for a quarter in the depths of your pocket. It is durable and none bendable. And will look more professional. It is still in the prototype stages, but it is going to get a nice and thick rubber head grip and more improvements to the design! I would like any inputs or suggestions from my film colleagues. What do you think?

Steadicams vs 3 Axis Gimbals http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12551/steadicams-vs-3-axis-gimbals Mon, 09 Mar 2015 00:26:10 +0000 sidecar 12551@/talks/discussions Since the more expensive of the former, such as Blackbird, are comparable cost to cheaper part assembled CAME units. Is it safe to say the older fly-cam/glide-cam type devices have proven inferior to 'active' 3 axis gimbals? In considering purchasing stabilisation for m43rds GH4, where Im shooting quite short takes around 8 seconds of pans and very short track and travels, have 3 axis gimbals made a Fait accompli of older designs?
