2016 Best Export Settings for YouTube

Thought I had my secret sauce for export settings...but pulled a project from about a year ago, making some tweaks, and re-exported using my previous primo Premiere Pro settings...but image was destoryed. Tons of banding/blotchiness, general low resolution, etc (Even when playing in 1080 on YouTube). I was using H.264, 12 Mbps for Target Bit Rate, and 40 Mbps for Max Bit Rate, High Profile 5.1, and checking lower box for rendering at max quality. 3 minute video was 253 MB. I guess YouTube has changed their ways they compress/encode etc. Last year this export looked great...now it's horrible!

What's everybody using for their export settings these days for YouTube? (and Vimeo for those interested there too)

I've been asked to edit some footage that was shot in SD. Editing in Premiere Pro CC. I know my optimal export settings when editing 1080P HD, in terms of using VBR 2 pass and setting optimal Target and Maximum Bitrate. Does anyone know if there are optimal export settings (for H.264 for YouTube and Vimeo) for footage shot in SD? Didn't know if they differ from what works with exporting HD footage. Thanks

Colors getting change as soon as timeline is open for export. I need help. I had the same issue last year and I ended up with fresh system installed. I could not find out what was cousin this issue but fresh osx instal helps and everything was OK. I wasn't to exited to install everything again today and after all it did not help. Exported video looks washed out like in export window. especially reds-became yellow (visible on picture below). I tried open PP project and export in AE - same result. Any Ideas?

Trimming clips, making selections in .MTS files and exporting them

I am currently exploring VJ software to create visual installations instead of narrative movies. For this, I am looking for tools to quickly trim clips I shot down to a few seconds and save them in a format of choice. I have tried this in Final Cut Pro X but it is cumbersome. Is there simple tool/player in which you can open a MTS, set an in- and out point and export the selection as a new clip in one of the codecs available on the Mac? I remember that QuickTime Pro used to be able to do this. Any other tools that you have had great succes with? As I will be shooting lots of footage the coming months, it must be quick and painless. Looking forward to your tips!

Fast conversion from AVHCD hi-def to smaller format?

I use Premiere Pro CS5 for editing hi-def video. And even though my system's fairly robust (Phenom II quad core, 16 gig RAM, a GTX 670 card with lots of CUDA) it still chugs. I'd thought about taking my video files and rendering them as lower-resolution files, in another format, to enable Premiere Pro to handle things more easily. I figure, I could do my editing, and then replace the low-res files with the originals. (And then there'd be finer editing, color correction, etc.)

Premiere Pro's renderer isn't exactly swift: it'd take twenty hours to render 2 hours of HD video into standard def. Is there a program that can render down a low-res version of an AVHCD file fairly quickly?
