Sony HDR Cx-100 60i & DV NSTC 29.95 fps

Is there a way someone can explain how I can sync them. I am only outputting 720x480 (web video) and it doesn't have to look totally pristine, but the cleaner the better. I am using Premiere Pro CS5.5 on a Mac Pro.

Thanks for any good advice.

I see some small improvements but not as much as I hoped.

I did see something about OpenCL as CUDA alternative.

How do you deliver content? The bandwidth topic. http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2958/how-do-you-deliver-content-the-bandwidth-topic. Fri, 20 Apr 2012 18:20:28 +0000 5thwall 2958@/talks/discussions This is a continuation of a discussion that started in the Final Cut X topic: http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/comment/57810#Comment_57810

The subject of tapeless deliverables was brought up, which was very timely for me, since I was in the middle of a job that was going crazy with uploading deliverables. Curious to know, how are you delivering final masters to your clients? Is it still tape? Do you see a decline in tape and an upward trend in digital delivery? How do you bill for upload time?

This is a topic for us to discuss the future of delivery in terms of bandwidth. Ideas, recommendations on best practices in the work environment. I'm very curious to know what your personal standards or your company's standards are for delivering digital content. Where do you see the need for bandwidth in small business and homes over the next few years - and will it be affordable? How do you organize the vast swath of files and content that's created?

Let's keep the NLE debate out of this conversation and focus on the realities of our day-to-day needs in delivery. Please post in the Final Cut X topic if you've got "beef" (and you know I do!).

Computer upgrade ssd graphics card monitor http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2042/computer-upgrade-ssd-graphics-card-monitor Tue, 17 Jan 2012 23:28:20 +0000 sethdp 2042@/talks/discussions Was thinking of upgrading a few parts in my computer. To get the most out of it. Right now i have a quad core i7 3.46 processor 64 bit, 16 gb of ram, radeon 6770 graphics card. Running Vegas pro 11 and hit films software with no problems. Rendering at 1080p takes right a round what the edit is. Was thinking of upgrading with a ssd just for windows os and editing software. Was looking at the Kingston hyperx ssd. Is the 120 gb enough or get the 240gb? Next is the graphics card. Was looking at the radeon 7970. Is this a good choice or something like the gtx 580 ? Lastly im looking at 2560x1600 resolution monitors is this over kill? Or will the extra sharpness in color.help any thanks Seth

Desktop PC http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2147/desktop-pc- Mon, 30 Jan 2012 16:56:40 +0000 Diffusion33 2147@/talks/discussions Hi everyone,

My mac laptop has finally given up and it is time to upgrade. Since i'm doing a lot of music, photography and now video since acquiring a GH2 in january (which is giving me great joy), i'm considering splashing out on a dell XPS 8300 Desktop going all out Max memory, max graphics and a raid hard drive....

Has anyone got any suggestions apart from this beast would be greatly appreciated. Please no mac chat! i have been burnt. I must say their customer service was great but the machine itself was not up to the job and kept breaking down at the most critical of times making me look like an ass loosing me good gigs.

I currently have a decent enough samsung screen but i will be upgrading to a 32inch LED screen in a few months for video work and pleasure.

Thanks

File-transfer Workflow with Gh13: do I need PhotoFun software at all? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1430/file-transfer-workflow-with-gh13-do-i-need-photofun-software-at-all Sat, 12 Nov 2011 08:16:20 +0000 kronstadt 1430@/talks/discussions I want to ask you about your file-transfer and editing workflow.

When I bought the body of GH1, it came with this REALLY-REALLY annoying software called "PhotoFunStudio". It occupies 364mb on my computer (which doesn't have much breathing space) and frankly, I still don't understand what is it for??? Is there any particular purpose why I might need it, like "correct" file transfer or the "correct" deletion of video and photo files??? Do I need it at all??? Or shall I just uninstall it?

I noticed that when i shoot in AVCHD, my .MTS files are not time-coded. Do I need "PhotoFunStudio" to time-code them?

Here is my workflow. If you see any mistakes or have any suggestions, please tell me.
Sometimes I use my GH13 for taking photos, but primarily for making movies. I use GH13 with Blackout-Powell patch, a 5 year old Dell Latitude D820 laptop with 80GB hard-drive and 3.25GB of RAM, 3TB external HDD, Win XP SP3, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. At the end of the day, I take out the SD card and put it into a USB-card-reader and put it into my laptop. Then I navigate to PRIVATE/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM , select all .MTS files and move them to my external HDD for editing later in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Then, I safely remove the SD card, put it back into GH13 and delete all files (sometimes I format the whole card). When I edit with Premiere Pro CS4, I just drag-n-drop the .MTS files (without timecoding) from my external HDD into the bin and edit away.

Any ideas, suggestions, reflections, would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!]]>

From Wes and Harry:

October 28, 2011

If you missed our mail last month you should check it out as it got a lot of people talking. Today we have a follow-up.

Our web site has relaunched* and while the overall look of the site is similar there is a dramatic difference in how we are distributing our plug-ins.

Starting today Pro Import AE, Pro Import FCP and Pro Export FCP (both versions, for FCP7 and FCPX) are available at no charge. You read this right. Free.

We are unable to provide support at the same level as we have over the years, but we didn't want these plug-ins to go away while they remain useful. So if you can make use of these plug-ins in your projects, enjoy!

Thank you to all of our users, working with you for the last 10 1/2 years was a truly wonderful experience.

Just picked this up for my iPad after seeing it on touch arcade, and so far its rather brilliant. What a neat idea. Sometimes the edit points can be a bit off from where you expect them but its such a nice idea and clearly must be exercising your editing muscle just a bit.]]>
