Hi all, Being New to the GH2 world (and what a nice world it is) im trying out all of my canon fitment lenses...It was time for the ISCO Anamorphic!

being a canon user for 4years all of my lenses are for canon fitment, so i bought a EF to M43 adapter. My set up for this video was - EF to M43 adapter, Olympus 50mm F1.8 + OM to EF Adapter, REDSTAN Anamorphic clamp adapter to thread with a step ring. I sold my canon 7D and 50D a few months back to get a used GH2 and i cant see me going back to Canon...ever. Enjoy.

I have a mint condition Bell & Howell / Kowa Anamorphic lens for sale. (similar to Kowa Anamorphic 8Z / 16H but this one is better with strict B&H quality control) It was professionally cleaned by an Anamorphic lens specialist in Hollywood and hasn't been used since then. It is probably the cleanest B/H Kowa you can find. You will not be disappointed.

It'll give you 2X stretched image and beautiful anamorphic horizontal flares.

I will be at NAB show in Las Vegas. Feel free to test it. It doesn't come with a clamp so you'll have to get it from Redstan or Vid-Atlantic or make your own to fit your lens. If you buy this lens at NAB, I can throw a 50mm Canon FD lens.

So over at a friend's house borrowing some lenses and he asked me If I had used any dogshit lenses lately. I laughed and said, "I really try not to ever use any", and then he showed me what he was talking about. The name alone made me laugh, but the results are kinda awesome, and I like what these guys are doing. For Cameras with shallow DR, these are amazing lenses.

I just love that their contrast options are "Low, Lower, and Stupidly Low."

Eiki 16F Anamorphic Lens + 58mm clamp + 58mm filter ring

Finally decided to sell my precious Eiki Anamorphic. It's in a great condition with original box, the glass is crystal clear no fungus no scratches. Along with the lens goes 58mm clamp and custom made 58mm front filter adapter. It is sharp, flares are great, minimum focusing distance - 1.5m (5 feet), the lens delivers a beautiful cinematic picture.

M42 lenses for use with Kowa anamorphic lenses with BMPCC / GH2

Hi Guys, This may be my first thread, I have a BMPCC and a GH2 both of which I love. Also recently I have bought a Kowa (sometimes labelled as Bell & Howell) anamorphic lens. This will be my first time playing with anamorphic, I love everything about the look. The Kowa anamorphic lens is a 58mm screw mount lens that needs a screw mount adapter kit which clamps on to your lens of choice. So far I have got the Helios 44-2 58mm, Focal MC F2.8 135mm, & a MIR-1B F2.8 37mm lens. These are all VERY reasonably priced on eBay. Has anyone any other ideas for must have M42 lenses for use with anamorphics with a BMPCC/GH2?

Hello again! I am wondering about the right decision in choosing an anamorphic option. There are so many, that have become rareties in some respect. There is the Panasonic AG-LA7200 16:9 Anamorphic Lens Adapter, which is average price is 1000 dollars. Than we have a Century Precision adapter, which is harder to find, but a cheaper pick-up, that seems to provide intense flares. Now we also have the endless array of anamorphic projector lenses, adapted with lens clamps and such, that some say is better, and some say not so much. These include Kowa(which do look pretty nice sporting a 2x Anamorphic, ranging from 100 bucks to over 700, Isco-Optic focusing ana proj lens, and the Sankyoscope anamorphot 1.5x including a +0.5 diopter, focus through, which I haven't found for less than 1000 dollars, and I'm not sure how much the diopter will assist me, but anyhow there are many more, which I'm sure most are aware of. I am just hoping to get a little more insight into what the best and most effective options are.

1 - Century Optics Bayo 58mm. (1.33x stretch, focus through)

Hardest version of the Century to get, this one has 58mm rear threads. Glass is in perfect condition, no haze, scratches or dust. It comes with front and rear caps. Won't go as wide as the Panasonic, but it's perfectly fine at 35mm on Full Frame, no vignetting at all, and corner sharpness is much better.

The focusing process uses only the taking lens, no double-focus nightmare here. Blueish-futuristic flares, stretches out perfectly to 2.35:1 from a 16:9 HD image.

2 - Panasonic LA7200 + Extras. (1.33x stretch, focus through)

I've modded this one hard, to fit every need. Now I'm moving towards LOMOs and would be sad to let this baby in the locker, gathering dust. I've machined a custom front for it, creating 105mm filter threads for attaching big diopters - which are somewhat hard to come across.

The glass is in perfect condition, no haze, fungus, scratches or chips this time. Rear thread is secured with Redstan's clamp, with 67mm threads, closest pairing possible with the taking lens. I'm including front and rear caps - not the original ones - and the original lens pouch. As everyone already knows, it's focus through, allows you to rack focus on the taking lens and go extra wide-angle at the same time. Has some problems regarding corner sharpness, but I think it's awesome.

I'm including in this kit a custom-made filter holder for 4.5" diopters, and three of these: +0.5, +1 and +2, Tiffen, in perfect shape. This way, you won't need anything else in order to start shooting with this lens, even at the widest lenses and apertures. This size of glass is very hard to find, and this adapter doesn't even have a copy. Single unit!

3 - Isco Widescreen 2000. (1.5x stretch, focus through)

A nice lens from the Isco family, this one isn't single focus as the Iscoramas, or double focus as the modern ISCO glass. It has a fixed focus distance, like Century, Optex and Panasonic, and all the focusing is done on the taking lens. In order to achieve closer focus, you must use close ups. I got this one off ebay about six months back, and it came with a 55mm clamp missing a screw (replaced and in perfect working condition) and a 67mm filter thread epoxied to the front of the lens. I tested it a lot to see if this ring wouldn't come off during shooting, but it's really solid. I added a 67-72mm step up at the front and a 52-55mm step up at the back (both can be easily unscrewed off). Lens is MultiCoated, so, unless you're working like this, no crazy flares.

I must inform that the rear element has some bad looking lens separation. It shows up a bit in the last photo in the link below, but it doesn't seem to affect image quality at all. When you point a badass light source directly INTO the lens (like a LED flashlight), the clipping white area is a bit bigger than it should, since the light bounces through the separation. I asked Redstan about it and he said that even bad looking like that, wouldn't affect image quality at all. Besides this, lens has no haze, fungus or scratches.

Included here is a Soligor pouch in which the lens fits neatly inside, both front and rear caps (72mm and 52mm respectively). Sitting around on my desk there's also a Sigma +1.6 62mm achromatic diopter that I'm putting into this kit as well. It comes with the original jewel case. and has no marks on the glass.

Allegedly, 50 units of these gems- 52 grams, 1.8 oz.- made around 1960s by Henri Chrétien before selling the rights of his optical patent to 20th Fox on late 60’s. With spectacular images quality, exceptional anamorphic flares, small size and ease of use, this tiny beast is –and will remain to be- hard to compete in the whole anamorphic world. Optically, the glass is in very good condition, exceptional for its age. There are minimal signs of use but nothing to affect the quality of the image. This movie has been shoot a week-end mid october in Bordeaux, and first week-end of november in the countryside. I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. This lens is very sharp, even at it's fastest aperture (f1.6) and this wide aperture is still usable with the anamorphic on it ! Some of the shot of the movie had been taken at f1.6.

It was not possible to screw directly the anamorphic lens on the Qioptiq prime lens because the front barrel is turning when you focusing. So I ordered a special machined flat step up ring to attach the two lens. I've unscrewed the ring on the Qioptiq that is maintening the glass, and replace with the special machined flat ring. Then I screwed on it the original small Berthiot clamp that can align the anamorphic lens. Then I put the baby Berthiot hypergonar in it. The combination suits perfectly ! The weight of this anamorphic combo is quite light. The Hypergonar weight is 57 grams, the clamp maybe 20 grams, the Qioptiq is 210 gram, then the two filters (diopter + variable ND) and step up rings maybe 150 grams. So the total is around only 400 grams ! And finally using the OM-D with it's 5 axis stabilization system with an anamorphic combo is very useful !

Hellow fellows, i wanted to ask you what steadycam should i use with my GH3, i will shoot with and without anamorphic, the rig will weight around 2.5Kg with anamorphic, and 1.5 without. i was into the laing P03 because of the reviews and price, the price point is ok for me as it looks like the best around without going for 600$. And just to mention it will be my first steadycam. What do you think friends ? Thanks

This movie has been shoot during thursday 18th of october 2013, from the morning to the end of the afternoon, bringing my daughter at school, then filming with my students at university, then taking my daughter from her school.

I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. Anyone have one of these?.

The coarse focus is done on the Cinelux via a thumb screw at the front but the fine focus is done on the imaging lens attached to the rear so there are two focus controls to worry about.

I am interested in a modification, but first I have some questions

1 have you taken one apart? - if so please post pictures

2 the focus range is 3m - INF, via a small knob - how many full turns to go from near to far?

3 is the focus low torque or high (stiff), could it take a pinion gear for gearing or servo/stepper?

I've always known the GH3 packed a great punch in its IQ since I saw how much the latitude in the shadows improved over the GH2. It was my first sign that this little beast mixed with the right glass could produce amazing images and finally, having the time to create something for the art of filmmaking, decided to dive into the world of anamorphic and create something that I hope you all enjoy!
