Available at:

I've seen this lens mentioned in other topics but couldn't find anything specific for it.

I want a faster, longer lens and this one looks good (I assume it's a Samyang). It sure looks like a bargain.

Any issues with it for video?

85mm best lens to for film making? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2970/85mm-best-lens-to-for-film-making- Sun, 22 Apr 2012 02:56:42 +0000 azza_act 2970@/talks/discussions Heh guys, just seeing what you guys think would be a good investment (i'm thinking about the future here) would be for a 85mm lens? I want something I can FF with and that will have a future with other cameras. My current lenses are the;

Olympus 12mm, Volt 25mm and the Olympus 45mm.

There's 3 lenses I have my eye on (within my budget);

The Samyang 85mm 1.4 Nikon mount. Cheap, sharp but is it a good choice for FF?

The Zeiss Planar T* 85mm f/1.4 ZF Nikon Mount. Expensive but worth it with image quality and i heard its great for FF. But would the GH2 support its weight? I would love to build a nice set of Zeiss lenses to last me for years.

Then there's the not yet released Olympus 75mm 1.8 lens, which i believe is coming soon. I own the 12mm and 45mm which are awesome bits of glass but i fear they are not up to a task of shoot a movie because you can't use a FF kit with them. Is that true? Will that be the same issue with the 75mm? And it i upgrade to a new camera system, i can't see any future of being able to use these bad boys expect for maybe on the BMC cam or a AF200.

Should i stick with Olympus for the moment? Or should I slowing be upgrading to Zeiss and future proofing myself?

Cheers Aaron

Vintage lens advice on 24mm, 35mm and 85mm http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15926/vintage-lens-advice-on-24mm-35mm-and-85mm- Sun, 23 Oct 2016 08:15:03 +0000 VortekShow 15926@/talks/discussions Hey guys,

do you have any tips on which lenses to choose in this focal range. They should be vintage lenses and below 140€ (I know this is probably though for the 24mm). They should be relatively fast (below 2.8), plenty sharp and have an analog, film look like color rendition. I know that everybody wants these, but maybe you have some ideas. Have a great day. V

35mm -- $200 OBO 50mm -- $150 OBO 85mm -- $250 OBO

All three for $550.

Paypal shipping to confirmed addresses only. Will sell as group or separate.

2012 is drawing to a close. I'm right now trying to optimize my workflow and sell a few pieces of equipment I don't necessarily need anymore.

All three lenses were bought at the beginning of this year and were only used a couple of times on pretty small projects.

They are built like tanks and offer absolutely lovely bokeh. Focus is really, really smooth. I seriously recommend them.

Perfectly fitting Half Inch Rails gears included. (Best lens gear in my opinion, nice and simple)

Nikon 35/1.4 and 85/1.8 AI'D for sale http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4239/nikon-351.4-and-851.8-aid-for-sale Mon, 13 Aug 2012 21:28:36 +0000 ISO1600 4239@/talks/discussions Two great old lenses for sale. These lenses are both 100% legit- only reason i'm selling is just sold my 5DII and got a OM-D. I need M4/3 lenses. Looking to get cash (via paypal) or possibly trade for Panasonic glass (14, 20, 25). Check my feedback on fredmiranda: http://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/feedback/75096 or on ebay under user "180s13".

35/1.4: legendary lens. Amazing build quality. ALL metal- even the glass is metal! (j/k). This is the old pre-AI version, with factory/nikon AI conversion on it- so it will work on any modern nikon camera that can handle AI lenses. Focus is very well dampened, and a LONG throw. This would be good for video. 9 Aperture blades. The only thing keeping me from rating this a 9+ is i trimmed the baffle/shroud in the rear of the lens so that i could mount it on my 5DII. Caps included. Looking to get $225(net) for this sucker. Can include Fotodiox Pro NF-EF adapter.

85/1.8: Another awesome lens. Bokeh machine. Tons of character. This one isn't as in as good of shape as the 35, it has some wear on the barrel/focusing ring. Has been AI converted by the excellent Jim White (AIconversions.com). Caps included. Looking to get $200(net) for this guy. Can include Fotodiox Pro NF-EF adapter.

85mm F1.5 Helios Cyclop Version http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3461/85mm-f1.5-helios-cyclop-version Sun, 03 Jun 2012 15:14:58 +0000 digger 3461@/talks/discussions I won this lens on ebay thinking it was the 40-2 85mm f/1.5 model. What I got was the lens in the Cyclops configuration which has its aperture fixed at f/1.5. I know I got ripped off (by a US seller who didn't explicitly say it was the 40-2 but didn't exactly make it clear that it was the Cyclops configuration), but the lens is in great shape. Before I return it, I wanted to see what others would do in a similar circumstance. I've been searching far and wide for this lens, and though it's not exactly what I was looking for, should I think for a second about keeping it?

Help me to select gear. Beginners topic. http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1508/help-me-to-select-gear.-beginners-topic. Mon, 21 Nov 2011 06:01:03 +0000 blackste 1508@/talks/discussions https://bongous.com/ to have the goods delivered to my country.

I am accumulating as many things as possible that I need from USA, since I get to save on the freight charges.

I would appreciate your help on things I need for using the Rokinon (this is mainly for the video) on GH1 and some suggestion on other gears.

Here is my list

1. Rokinon 85mm 1.4 for Canon (going Canon as I have plans to buy some Canon FD lens, however no Canon lenses with me yet)
2. Which canon adapter would you recommend? Will the EF mount be able to take FD lens? Or you need a separate FD adapter as well?
3. Need a Vari-ND filter. How many stops will be needed if I need to use 1.4 in daylight on ISO 100 at 50 fps? Is Fader ND from Lightcrafts a good buy? Is 77mm future proof?
4. Would like to buy some FD macro lens. Any suggestions? This is also for video mainly. Any other FD lens that would be a nice addition?
5. What is the secret behind the cost of the Novoflex FD adapter?
6. Is there any focus help available for the Rokinon on a GH1?
7. Any budget follow focus with rods etc? This is not a priority, but I just might get one.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
