    Olympus LS-100 review and test against Zoom H4N

    The levels in all tests are carefully matched. My overall opinion is that built-in microphone quality is identical on both devices, preamps are less noisy on Olympus and XY microphone positioning on Zoom gives more definite and accurate stereo image.

    The major drawback of Olympus LS-100 is 200 msec latency while monitoring. However Olympus promised to fix it in an upcoming firmware update. Personally I would tolerate that delay if they could turn this into advantage by implementing look-ahead limiting.
