Follow focus needs rails?
  • Ive been using the manual focus more often as the autofocus is too slow
now i want a follow focus.

  • Normally, yep.
As I know, friction based FF exist that attaches to camera threads. But this is not the best solution.
  • Look for the D|Mount from D|Focus System, is a quick rail free adapter but i think it only works with they own Followfocus
  • Yep.
But better just buy rails and adjustable base.
  • thx bros! ima start looking for rails + adjustable base + follow focus

  • idc photo video also has a good rail-less friction follow focus system. but if you're serious about videography, you'll probably end up going to rails eventually anyway. idc is also upgradeable to rails, so i guess it's something to think about. def not the cheapest though.

  • So, which thread has recommendations for rails for GH2 cameras?

Any standard 60mm spaced 15mm rails will do :-)

Look at our deals to get an idea.
