  • Is the Carbon monopod with the 717 or 718 head?

  • Yep, looking at

    It seems like 718 head.

  • I bought this and love it. Did a little review in special deals topic http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/562/special-deals-matteboxes-hoods-and-follow-focus#Item_236 Since then I sold my Gini and bought another Lanparte!

  • Yes, it can be mounted on a tripod sideways, angle or even vertical. Its really nice to have, I got one a few months back when ebay prices were very low on it.

  • Is there any way to adjust resistance with this slider? Thanks!

  • Is there any way to adjust resistance with this slider?

Can you tell me that you understand under " resistance"?

  • By "resistance", I mean the ability to make it a little harder (or easier) to push the camera. If it slides too easily, adding resistance makes it easier to make a smooth motion. It also helps if you're tilting the slider.

  • the "lock, unlock" red knob next to the ball bearings adjust the drag/resistance.

  • @Jonathan_P

They have tension tuning. You'll get description with pictures in manual.

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev I should have known you'd come up with an amazing deal on these! I just bought my slider days before your deal.

For anyone on the fence, this is a great product at an amazing price.

  • Bought and tried the Varavon loupe for GH2. Finally something customised for GH2, been using 3" viewfinders and they posed all kinds of issues.

So far the Varavon has smoothened my workflow, and the bracket ensures I don't break the LCD screen when it's flipped out.

    Try it!

  • The Varavon lite sliders are amazing. Great build quality and super portable. Resistance can be adjusted but with some long nosed pliers and a bit of unscrewing. Havent tried that yet. the red lock unlock screw is simply to lock the slider down .. not to adjust drag. Great product and the shipping is pretty fast. Just wished I had got it from here on the deal.

  • just picked up the loupe ex supporter. i feel that it'll be a great help on a shoulder rig. so i could minimized the configuration of it. meaning i wouldn't have to buy addition pieces to have the camera offset so my lcd wouldn't have to be directly in front of me. i'm very exciting on this purchase.

  • I can thoroughly recommend the Varavon Loupe. Picked mine up on ebay for $200 inc, shipping and I thought that was a good price. $163 is a steal!

  • Updated to weekend specials.

  • just got this shoulder pad separately on ebay, was not listed, i requested it. well it's plastic, not metal, with no way to tighten on to rods. so i'd have to block it on both ends with rod blocks. maybe it tightens on this kit somehow.

  • i don't have this complete rig but as i mentioned already the shoulder mount is plastic, the grips are aluminum with foam grips and the blue thumb locks are plastic. they don't tighten well, its all very budget, hence the price. and yes its standard 15mm rods.

  • just got my loupe today! It works great, much better then the cheaper ones I have tried. Recommended for anyone with a Gh

  • I got my Varavon loupe for GH2 today, can say WOW, this is a great build quality, did not know what i was missing until i got this and used a bit ...

  • Another rave review for the Varavon GH2 loupe! Thanks for swinging this great deal!

  • Adding my voice to the praise for the Varavon loupe — it makes a world of difference on my GH1. One of the magnets holding the hinge closed loosened up after a couple of days of use, but I glued that sucker down and it works great!

  • Updated to weekend specials.

  • @Vitaliy_Kiselev Received the Lanparte FF today. First impression is great! Well built and super smooth gearbox with basically no backlash. Thanks a lot for this great deal!

  • @Tobsen Thanks for your mini review. I hope you'll write more once you've had a chance to play with it for longer. I'm not quite ready to buy a FF yet but from what you've just written and what some others have said, this Lanparte seems like the one to get.

  • @CrazyPete I didn't own many FF's before but it feels so much better compared to my current Ikan FF. I will definitely do a review on the Lanparte FF at some point in the future when my custom wired focus grip is ready. Maybe I find some free time before that to post more impressions about this FF.

  • Very happy with both the Loupe and the lens support -- figured out how to attach a century optics 1.6 telephoto attachment to the 100-300 for nature filming. The lens support holds it up, and the loupe helps me keep the critters in focus. Very happy. Will post details and footage on the century optics mod on another thread when I have a moment (excuse the poor quality of this one, just snapped it with the macbook).

    Oh, and shipping very fast.

  • Updated, btw big lights are now available for constant deals

  • The Wondlan stabilizer looks nice. Do most prefer the design of the Wondlan stabilizer listed above, or something more like the Merlin?

I've never used either, and I wonder if there is a big advantage of one over the other?

  • Updated, Lanparte shoulder pad one day deal

  • I am short of cash, or I would get a second. For those that contemplate a two pad rig .. only undo 4 screws .. swap the pad .. and you can make it fit your left shoulder
