Yuneec H920 Plus drone with m43 camera http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16419/yuneec-h920-plus-drone-with-m43-camera Mon, 06 Feb 2017 08:42:28 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 16419@/talks/discussions image

ONTARIO, CA (February 1, 2017) — Yuneec International, a world leader in electric aviation, today announced significant upgrades to its flagship professional sUAS platform, the H920, creating the H920 Plus and improved ProAction handheld grip. The new features and functions integrated into the H920 Plus commercial platform allow field service providers and cinematographers to capture aerial and ground content safely and precisely for a variety of industrial applications such as inspection, emergency response, production sets and beyond.

The H920 Plus includes the ST16 Pro Ground Station which operates on an Android platform with an integrated transmitter, flight controls and large 7-inch screen display with a HD 720p video downlink for real-time flight footage and an HDMI uplink for distribution to external monitors, command/control centers, or broadcast trucks. The refined main control system now allows pilots to not only save settings but also select various mission task modes: Orbit Me, Point of Interest, Journey, Curve Cable Cam as well as waypoints, providing a bevy of programed options for high-end commercial use. Users can also utilize video and image playback on the ST16 Pro and download aerial maps to cache H920 Plus waypoints.

Yuneec will offer its CGO4 – developed in close cooperation with Panasonic® – with an all-new histogram, 4/3 CMOS Sensor, 3x optical zoom 14-42mm, 16 megapixels and 4k 30FPS/ 100 Mbps video resolution as the H920 Plus core camera. The CGO4 body is compatible with three lenses: Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 12mm F2.0, Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 45mm f1.8 and Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 14-42mm F3.5-5.6 EZ. Additionally, the H920 Plus supports the CGO series of camera platforms: CGO3+ 3-axis anti-vibration gimbal 4K UHD camera, CGO-CI camera with all-glass, seven-element lens for cinema and inspection and CGO-ET dual thermal RGB camera designed for law enforcement, search & rescue and solar inspection applications. Yuneec’s CGO-ET is the industry’s first camera to combine simultaneous thermal and residual light capture. All of the cameras can be operated either in Single Mode or Team Mode. Single Mode allows users to control the camera and UAV through one ST16 Pro, while Team Mode allows a second ST16 Pro to operate the camera independent of flight.

“Our engineers not only addressed core needs, but developed a sUAS platform that excels in a variety of applications for professional users,” said Wen Yan Jiang, Group CEO and Chairwoman of Yuneec International Co., Ltd. “We’re offering waypoints through aerial maps, mission task modes, and a high-end, versatile Panasonic based camera system with multiple lens options for crisp aerial footage when affixed to the H920 Plus and smooth ground footage with the ProAction Grip.”

The H920 Plus is outfitted with a carbon fiber fuselage and arms creating a light, yet durable and stable platform optimal for use in industrial and commercial environments. It also features a six-rotor design capable of emergency flight with only five rotors, quick-disconnect props and a 360-degree, 3-axis gimbal coupled with retractable landing gear that provides an unobstructed view from any angle. The camera and gimbal are capable of a 20 degree up-angle for upward-looking inspections.

The ProAction Grip is a dual-grip ground handle that extends the CGO4 from sky to ground, allowing users to capture ultra-stable and remarkably steady footage in the most turbulent circumstances. Users simply connect their smart device with the ProAction ground handle through the CGO4 app, available for free in the App Store and Google Play Store, to seamlessly view a live HD video feed and control the CGO4 gimbal.

The H920 Plus maintains Yuneec’s focus on safety with features such as Geo-fencing, Variable Speed Control, Dynamic Return Home and Low-Battery Return Home. The H920 Plus is available now and will be offered in a variety of configurations with prices ranging from $2,499 to $3,999. The ProAction handle and CGO4 bundle is available now for $1,500. Getting started with Aerial Videos http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/16136/getting-started-with-aerial-videos Sun, 04 Dec 2016 04:36:19 +0000 zcream 16136@/talks/discussions The last few days I have researched drones and cameras. Here is the info dump.

Camera

Pick a solid camera. I had to deal with compression artifacts due to a dust storm and foliage in wind (lots of small movements). And its a pain if you are paying the actors and unable to notice this on set.

I would pick GoPro Hero4 Black with Protune 2.7K Medium FOV, Sony X3000 or X1000V (only 1080p stabilized). Alternatively the paper specs of the DJI Phantom 4 Pro seem outstanding. However, its not been released yet.

If you want cheaper I suggest the Sony 1080p action cam with BOSS at 50mbps at 1080p, or Hero2, Hero3 even Xiaomi Yi with 50mbps and flat profile hack at 2.5K

Drone

D1. At current price BH have Phantom 2 with H4-3D gimbal for Hero 4 at 430$

D2. 3DR Solo with gimbal is on clearance on regular basis for 350 or 399 Example 1 - 3DR Solo Drone Bundle (gopro gimbal, extra battery & propellers) @ Best Buy, new low price $379 Example 2 - 3DR - 3DR Solo Drone with Gimbal, Rechargeable Battery, Extra Propellers and Backpack 4 hour flash sale $350($325 w/Visa)

http://www.banggood.com/Upgraded-11_1V-2800MAH-30C-Battery-for-Cheerson-CX-20-RC-Quadcopter-p-923297.html

D4. F450 kit for ARF - assemble it yourself. I have never done this before but the price is about 300$ including everything.

D5. Another lesser known Drone+Gimbal+FPV package is the Xiro Xplorer G - they make commercial drones and the reviews indicate excellent wind performance and a solid product. It can be obtained for about 269$ in sale. All you need to do is add your Hero 4 Black. It has reviews about a flimsy gimbal but a solid flier.

D1 and D2 only carry Hero 4 Black

D3 can carry the Sony Action Cams.

Here looking for feedback..

A small American company have come up with a competitively priced waterproof drone with interchangeable 'pods' to allow one to drop bait, scan for fish using sonar and film above or below water with a camera.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1528442751/aguadrone-100-waterproof-drone-with-a-fish-finder

The thing can land and take off from water. I think its genius and this may be the first drone I have shown a serious interest in. I am a mad keen fisherman ( not very good I might add ) but the ability to cast your lure far from shore is intriguing. I am also sure that I can fashion a DIY pod for my BMPCC. After all it is just a screw in type. Then it becomes a true jack of all trades.I envision using some silicon to make the negative mould and use some polyurethane to make just about any accessory I want to dangle from it.

I have backed it. I hope it gets support

Even though I haven't used this product, for the price and features I think it will be great. Gimbal Reviews or Personal Experience? http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15872/gimbal-reviews-or-personal-experience Wed, 12 Oct 2016 09:05:48 +0000 tfinn 15872@/talks/discussions Has anyone from PV used the either of the two gimbals most recently posted under deals: the Zhiyun or the Wondlan? I am in particular looking for anyone's experience with the single-handle versions, comparison with Beholders, anything, really. If you think single-handed gimbals suck, I would love to hear that. And if you think the only way to shoot on a gimbal is to buy/rent a Red and plop it on a Movi, I'd like to hear that, too.

Sorry if this should go under another thread, the last gimbal threads I saw seemed to focus on suggestions for gimbals for a particular camera. I am actually looking to see if people would recommend the gimbals at all, as it seems for better or worse all small-form mirrorless/dslrs/point-and shoots, etc. seem to be in the same approximate form factor and weight range (minus lenses). I trust the opinions of people on PV, so I like seeing reviews that people do - I think there was talk of a PV Review section coming at some point? Do I have that right?

Epson BT-300 glasses will be usable with DJI drones http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/15689/epson-bt-300-glasses-will-be-usable-with-dji-drones Thu, 08 Sep 2016 15:57:49 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 15689@/talks/discussions

Epson, providers of the Moverio® augmented reality (AR) smart eyewear platform, today announced a partnership with DJI, the world’s leading maker of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). The partnership will ensure the development of exciting new applications for Epson’s Moverio smart eyewear that will significantly enhance the piloting experience of DJI drones for hobbyists and professionals alike.

image

As one of the first initiatives of the partnership, DJI will optimise the DJI GO app for the Epson Moverio BT-300 AR smart glasses. Using the app with the Moverio glasses, drone pilots will be able to see crystal clear, transparent first person views (FPV) from the drone camera while simultaneously maintaining line of sight with their aircraft. The DJI GO app is compatible with the DJI Phantom, Inspire and Matrice series drone models as well as the Osmo handheld gimbal and camera.

Epson and DJI will co-market the Moverio BT-300 as a certified DJI accessory, along with the DJI GO app later this year. The Epson smart glasses will be available to buy on DJI.com while the DJI GO app will be available for download from the Moverio Apps Market. The Epson/DJI partnership meets various country-specific aviation agency regulations and guidelines for UAVs across Europe, specifically that UAVs should remain within visual line-of-sight (VLOS) of the pilot, enabling a variety of businesses to use drones for a range of aerial photographic and video purposes. Sectors such as construction, housing, insurance, agriculture, emergency services, conservation, academic research, film and video production all benefit from using drones today.

“The Moverio BT-300 marks an impressive advance in performance for the platform and will make flying and filming safer and help users stay in compliance with regulations,” said Michael Perry, director of strategic partnerships, DJI. “We are excited to see the incredible applications that can be built with the Moverio BT-300 and the recently-relaunched DJI SDK – the possibilities truly are endless.”

Valerie Riffaud-Cangelosi, Epson’s EMEA New Market Development Manager – Wearables & Connected Devices, says: “This is a milestone event - the first time AR smart glasses will be widely available for a mass-market consumer application. The drone market has become a priority market for Epson and we believe the partnership with DJI will revolutionise how drone pilots operate their aircraft in this fast-growing industry. Our Moverio BT-300 smart glasses are tailored for drone piloting, and its head-tracking sensors enable the drone pilot to visualise a 360-degree canvas, while keeping track of the device and maintaining line of sight. This is an important factor in terms of regulations and piloting experience, because it helps the pilot to concentrate on the task at hand and make decisions more quickly.”

In addition to making drone piloting safer, the goals of the partnership include providing pilots and film-makers with new AR tools for enhanced productivity when using a drone. Epson and DJI will also work together to create entirely new experiences for the fast-growing number of hobbyists and businesses, as well as conduct joint sales and marketing efforts worldwide.

Launching its first-generation smart glasses in 2011, the Epson Moverio BT-300 represents the world’s lightest binocular, transparent smart glasses with an OLED display. Combining breakthrough silicon-based OLED digital display technology and Android OS 5.1, the Moverio BT-300 enables truly transparent mobile AR experiences. The Epson Moverio BT-300 will be available in late 2016 and may be pre-ordered at www.epson.eu/See-Through-Smart-Glasses. For a complete product overview of the Moverio BT-300, please visit the following link.

Epson and DJI will be demonstrating the DJI GO app on the Moverio BT-300 during InterDrone 2016 in Las Vegas (Booth 81 this week, 7-9th Sept.), and in Cologne at COPTER WORLD at Photokina” (Hall 6, 20-25th Sept).
