SIGMA Corporation (CEO: Kazuto Yamaki) is pleased to announce its development of SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-31, a converter that allows PL mount lenses to be used on L-Mount cameras.

By using SIGMA MOUNT CONVERTER MC-31, users can use PL mount cine lenses, which are widely used in the filmmaking industry, on the SIGMA fp and other L-Mount cameras.

A production version of this new product will be on display at IBC 2019, scheduled to take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from September 13 to 17, 2019.

1. Shim adjustments. MC-31 has shim adjustments on two points of the mount. Adjustments can be made with a shim kit (included) on the camera side of the mount, or a shim for ARRI digital cameras on the lens side.
2. All-metal construction for excellent durability. With an aluminum-alloy body and strong brass mount and locking ring, MC-31 boasts excellent durability. It is also designed to be secured on the mount of the SIGMA fp with a screw thread, ensuring an even more secure connection between the lens and the camera. This allows users to shoot steady without the lens rattling even after the long-term use.
3. Tripod socket. The removable tripod socket allows MC-31 to be attached to a tripod or other filmmaking accessories such as a camera cage.
4. Suitable for various shooting conditions With the screw thread removed, the stopper of the locking ring is released. This makes it possible to use MC-31 with a PL mount lens that requires tighter mounting than the MC-31's specifications, allowing the lens to lock securely in place on the converter. The new Sony E – Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter is the latest groundbreaking product brought by Techart. We take advantage of the 2mm difference in flange distance between Sony E and Nikon Z mount and developed an ultra-thin adapter to convert the lenses in Sony E mount into Nikon Z. Techart also manage to incorporate a CPU chip into this tiny space which can ‘translate’ the protocol of Sony to Nikon so that the AUTOFOCUS, AUTO-APERTURE and LENS STABILISATION functions can all be retained.

Both AF-S, AF-C and Eye-AF mode will work on the Nikon Z6/Z7. Phase-detect AF is used and therefore the AF speed is on par with using native Z mount lenses on the cameras. Firmware is upgradable via separate lens dock.

Techart, who has previously launched the first autofocus adapter for manual lenses, has unveiled another groundbreaking product, Techart Sony E to Nikon Z Autofocus Adapter (TZE-01). The new TZE-01 is the world’s first autofocus adapter that allows Sony E-mount lenses to retain the Automatic Focus functionality when used on Nikon Z6 and Z7 cameras.

The flange distance of Nikon Z-mount is only 2mm shorter than Sony E-mount. This makes the design extremely difficult, let alone an electronic adapter where a chip and the connector pins have to be squeezed into. Techart has managed to pull it off and develop one which include connectors of both sides and a PCB board with chip to “translate” the protocol of the lens and the camera.
