Canon expands popular XA-series with three new compact 4K UHD professional camcorders

United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, 02 April 2019 -- Canon Europe has today announced the latest additions to its professional XA-series with three new 4K UHD camcorders -- the XA55, XA50 and XA40 - which respond to the growing market requirement for 4K UHD production. The XA55 / XA50 is a 4K UHD camcorder with a 1.0-type sensor, Dual Pixel CMOS AF and 15x Optical zoom, with the XA55 model featuring 3G-SDI. The XA40 is an ultra-compact 4K UHD camcorder with 1/2.3-type sensor and 20x Optical zoom.

The XA55, XA50 and XA40 are equally suited to 4K UHD and HD production, with Over Sampling HD processing allowing users to benefit from advanced Full HD capture, while the camcorders also offer a host of versatile professional features. Competitively priced and light in weight, these new camcorders broaden the reach of the XA product family and will resonate with professional users for applications such as news gathering, corporate video and documentary production.

Feature-packed 4K UHD filming for camcorder users

Portable and highly compact, the XA55 / XA50 enhances the appeal of the XA range to camcorder users. It is the first model in the XA-series to include a 1.0-type CMOS sensor with fast and reliable Dual Pixel Autofocus technology. The camcorder also features genuine Canon 4K 15x Optical zoom lens, which in conjunction with Super UD elements (Ultra-Low Dispersion), delivers rich image expression with beautiful bokeh and wide focal length of 25.5mm to 382.5mm. Advanced Full HD Imaging is possible thanks to the inclusion of DIGIC DV6 image processor and Over Sampling HD processing, whilst powerful 5-axis image stabilisation helps prevent image distortion even in handheld shooting.

Fast and accurate autofocusing in approximately 80 percent (vertical and horizontal) of the image is possible with Dual Pixel CMOS AF. Face detection AF, Face priority AF, Face only AF and touch tracking operation enable seamless focus control for intuitive operation, whilst a Dual Pixel Focus Guide provides a graphical user interface to aid manual focusing. This innovative guide applies Dual Pixel CMOS AF phase-difference technology to assist in achieving the same highly accurate focus.

The XA55 / XA50 user can also benefit from multi-format recording - with support for XF-AVC and MP4 recording up to 4K UHD 25P to SD cards, Slow & Fast Motion recording with a maximum speed of 1200x in both 4K and Full HD, and Dual SD card slots that enable relay and back-up recording. The XA55 / XA50 offers low power consumption with its battery supporting more than two hours of continuous operation.

Professional-quality audio is possible with linear PCM 4-channel audio recording and two XLR terminals, while 3G-SDI terminals (XA55 only) provide output in Full HD of 4:2:2 10-bit signal.

Versatile and ultra-compact professional 4K UHD camcorder

Weighing approximately 730g (body only), the XA40 is one of the most portable and compact 4K UHD professional camcorders currently available. Users can work the way they want to, but always in the highest quality, with the combination of a 4K UHD 1/2.3-inch type CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor delivering pristine 4K UHD images, and superior Full HD images assured with Over Sampling HD processing. There is support for recording in MP4 UHD 150Mbps at 25P and Full HD 35Mbps/17Mbps at 50P/25P, while continuous Slow and Fast motion recording is available in both UHD and Full HD with maximum speed of 1200x.

Freedom of expression is assured with access to a 20x Optical zoom with wide angle starting from 29.3mm. Maintaining consistent image quality is no problem with powerful 5-axis image stabilisation, whilst a 3D real-time lens group structure supports fast, quiet zoom operation in the same time to achieve responsive operation.

An Infrared Mode -- making production possible in conditions with little to no ambient light -- and a 3.0-inch LCD touchscreen for intuitive control are among the other headline attractions of this highly-specified camcorder. Other features include Dual SD card slots for backup and relay recording and support for linear PCM 4-channel audio, with built-in stereo mic and two XLR terminals included as standard.

GoPro Hero 7 topic http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/19918/gopro-hero-7-topic Tue, 19 Jun 2018 12:46:32 +0000 EspenB 19918@/talks/discussions After the discovery that the Hero(2018) is hardware identical to the Hero5 it might not come as a suprise to learn that the Hero7 seems to feature the same hardware as the Hero6. Only packaging and firmware might differ this year!

The model number SPCH1 is exactly the same as the GoPro Hero6.

The new GoPro action camera does not get a new name. The recent inspections of the device show that GoPro sticks to the usual designation and chooses Hero7 Black. For example, the action camera was approved last month by the Canadian ISED under this name with the model number SPCH1. Presumably this was not desirable as this inspection was quickly removed from the database. The screenshot below, however, shows that the Hero7 Black is indeed inspected including the product name and the model number.

Nikon Corporation (Nikon) is pleased to announce the release of the COOLPIX W150, a compact digital camera that offers superior water- and shock-proofing.

The COOLPIX W150 is a highly water-, shock-, cold- and dust-proof camera that supports shooting in a wide variety of situations, including capturing leisure activities at the pool or beach. A compact, rounded design makes it easy to handle for both children and adults alike. The addition of new and appealing color options and patterns to the camera body will make shooting leisure activities even more enjoyable.

The camera offers an effective pixel count of 13.2 million pixels, and is equipped with a 3x optical zoom NIKKOR lens. It is also equipped with functions that make recording photos and movies with superior image and picture quality fun and easy for anyone. These include the Target Finding AF2function, where the camera detects and focuses on the primary subject, and a function for recording Full HD movies3 with stereo sound.

It also offers a variety of scene modes*4 and editing functions that allow users to capture memories and experiences in impressive photos. The variety of scene modes and effects allow users to explore unique possibilities and share these photos and movies with their loved ones.

Its compatibility with SnapBridge allows photos taken with the camera to be automatically downloaded5 to a smart device6 for easy sharing of high-quality photos.

Tough and reliable for use by children and adults in a variety of leisure and travel situations

The camera is waterproof to a depth of 10 m/33 ft, shockproof to withstand falls from as high as 1.8 m/5.9 ft, dustproof and cold-resistant down to -10°C/14°F. It is a tough camera that can be used in diverse shooting situations, from the pool and beach, to underwater, outside on rainy days, at water events, in the snowy mountains, or even in the sandbox at the local park.

A design that appeals to the preferences of a wide variety of users

A neat design that appeals to the preferences of a broad range of users, from children to adults, has been adopted. The camera is designed with a moderately curved form that makes it comfortable to hold and use, even for children with small hands. It is available in the popular basic blue and white options, as well as three new patterns; resort, flower, and orange. Buttons on the back of the camera also match the pattern or color of the front of the camera body.

The graphical user interface (GUI) has also been modified to make it easier for first-time users to navigate. Camera operations can also be customized by selecting the design of the menu screen based on five options, as well as a [Variety menu] feature that can be disabled to limit the availability of selected camera functions.

User-friendly functions and operations to enable high-quality shooting easily

The camera offers an effective pixel count of 13.2 million pixels, and is equipped with a 3x optical zoom NIKKOR lens. Dynamic Fine Zoom*, which can be used to achieve approximately 6x zoom while ensuring that resolution remains high throughout the digital zoom range. In addition, the camera offers a number of functions that make capturing beautiful photos easy, including Target Finding AF, where the camera detects and focuses on the primary subject to ensure a sharp capture.

Full HD movies with stereo sound exhibiting superior picture quality can be easily recorded by simply pressing the movie-record button. What's more, the electronic vibration reduction (VR) function can be used to effectively reduce blur caused by camera shake.

Enhanced scene modes and editing functions that beautifully preserve once-in-a-lifetime experiences

The camera is equipped with modes that support underwater photography, including [Shoot under water] that applies processing optimized for underwater photography and [Underwater face framing] which automatically detects and captures human faces underwater. As well as this, an editing function [Add clarity underwater] that corrects the blue cast that often occurs with underwater shooting is newly employed for clearer images.

Additionally, more scene modes and editing functions that create special and unique photos that users will want to share with others have also been added. The new scene modes [Picture-in-picture] makes your images appear as if a picture that was taken on an instant print camera is placed in front of the background of another picture. FUJIFILM Corporation is delighted to announce the launch of the FinePix XP140, the latest tough camera in the XP series. Dustproof, waterproof to 25m, shockproof to 1.8mm1 and freezeproof to 10°C, the compact 207g2 XP140 is the perfect accessory for capturing a variety of adventures.

In addition to the durable design and build, the XP140 has a FUJINON lens that boasts the company’s unique colour reproduction technology and uses a 16.4 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and new processor to deliver outstanding image quality. The XP140 is now capable of movie recording in 4K quality for the first time in its series’ history. The XP140 also contains a host of automatic functions such as main subject recognition and new user interface, making it the easy choice for a wide variety of shooting situations.

Highlight Features

High-performance sensor and lens with unique colour reproduction technology

The XP140 has a 16.4 megapixel back-illuminated CMOS sensor and FUJINON’s 5x optical image stabilized zoom lens starting from 28mm*3 which can be doubled to 10x using Fujifilm’s Intelligent Digital Zoom technology. The XP140 also has a maximum sensitivity of ISO12800 (one stop higher than its predecessor) to produce sharp low noise images even in poor light conditions. Fujifilm’s years of experience are reflected with its colour reproduction technology, which ensures beautiful colours in all conditions.

Versatile automatic shooting functions

With improved Scene Recognition Auto mode, the XP140 detects a main subject and shooting scene and automatically optimises the camera settings. The Eye Detection feature helps to capture portraits by automatically focusing on the eyes of the person. A variety of self-timer mode helps capture instant moments by automatically releasing the shutter when it detects a smiling face or just a person’s face. The camera also features 17 variations of Advanced Filters including the new “Rich & Fine” and “Monochrome (NIR)”, which you can make selection through the new live-view user interface.

Four rugged features: waterproof to 25m, shockproof to 1.8m, freezeproof to -10°C and dustproof

The XP140 complies with IP68*4, the waterproof and dustproof protection standards. It is waterproof down to 25m, which is 125% improvement from the XP130. The camera is made for your outdoor lifestyle, with an improved grip design for better one-handed handling and a double-locking mechanism for the battery compartment. There is no need to worry about water, sand or dropping the camera, making it the perfect first camera for children as well.

Bluetooth 5 pairing and wireless LAN connectivity with smart devices6 for automatic photo transfer and Instax printing*

Bluetooth® low energy technology allows automatic image transfer to smartphones and tablet devices. The technology also syncs the time and location information from your device and attaches it to images, as well as enables remote shooting function via the app. Users need to download the free “FUJIFILM Camera Remote” app to their smartphone or tablet device to easily transfer photos and videos. Images can also be transferred from the camera directly to an INSTAX Share smartphone printer.

JVC HM250U, GY-HM250SP, GY-HM180U Camcorders http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/19406/jvc-hm250u-gy-hm250sp-gy-hm180u-camcorders Sat, 07 Apr 2018 21:03:08 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 19406@/talks/discussions

WAYNE, NJ (April 5, 2018) – JVC Professional Video, a division of JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation, today announced three new additions to its family of 4KCAM cameras. Among other new features, the new GY-HM250U offers integrated graphics and live streaming, while the GY-HM250SP adds sports-specific score overlays. Also new, the GY-HM180U sets a new benchmark for professional compact cameras without built-in streaming or graphics.

Designed for enhanced single-camera production, the GY-HM250U offers lower-third and full-screen titling solutions for recorded or streamed video output without an external CG or production switcher. Lower-third graphic overlays are generated and controlled using a browser-equipped device, such as a tablet or smartphone. JVC also provides a software utility that lets customers upload logos or icons that are displayed in the lower-third of the recorded video.

image

Full-screen graphics can be advanced manually or presented as a slideshow during extended breaks in the action with user-defined timing. Users can store up to 50 .JPG or .PNG graphics, such as team logos or religious icons, in the camera. Worship facilities, for example, can display scripture readings or lyrics, with the operator manually advancing graphics during the service.

The GY-HM250SP’s score overlays for football, baseball, basketball, hockey, soccer, and volleyball can be placed in various screen positions. Camera operators can update the score using an external Wi-Fi connected smartphone or tablet, or receive real-time scoreboard data automatically when wirelessly connected to a Sportzcast Scorebot that is integrated with the venue’s scoreboard.

Both the GY-HM250U and GY-HM250SP also feature built-in streaming with Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity that provides live access to CDNs like Facebook Live and YouTube. The cameras also work as part of JVC’s S.L.I.M. studio camera system, an affordable approach to multi-camera production that uses the RM‑LP100 remote camera control as a CCU for JVC IP-capable cameras.

Other new features include 4:2:2 recording for 4K/30p and 4K/24p, as well as 4K/60p HDMI output. The new tele macro shooting mode on the GY‑HM250U and GY‑HM250SP provides better focus on close objects than previous models, while the new Zero Config function provides automatic, one-click configuration of the camera when it joins the same LAN as other cameras.

image

The new GY-HM250U replaces the current GY-HM200U and GY-HM200HW models, while the new GY-HM250SP with integrated sports graphic overlays replaces the GY‑HM200SP. An upgrade to the popular GY-HM170U, the GY-HM180U still outputs live 4K via HDMI, but also adds a 3G-SDI output for connectivity flexibility.

Beyond the upgrades, GY-HM250U, GY-HM250SP, and GY-HM180U retain the professional features valued in the previous 4KCAM models, including a 1/2.3-inch BSI 4K CMOS imager and integrated 12x zoom lens with optical image stabilizer. The cameras record footage in a variety of file formats and frame rates (including up to 120fps slow motion) to economical Class 10 SDHC/SDXC memory cards. Users can record on two cards simultaneously for instant backup or use relay mode for extended recording time. Other features include dual XLR audio inputs, integrated handle with hot shoe, built-in microphone and dedicated shotgun mic mount, and viewfinder and LCD displays.

The GY-HM180U has an MSRP of $1,795, the GY-HM250U has an MSRP of $2,245, and the GY-HM250SP has an MSRP of $2,595. All three models will be available in May.

GoPro Hero8 topic http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/22038/gopro-hero8-topic Thu, 09 May 2019 17:58:17 +0000 EspenB 22038@/talks/discussions GoPro has confirmed the lauch of four new cameras for Q4, 2019. Fusion2 and three iterations of the Hero8.

Usually there is a launch in september and availability in october.

Despite the fact that the Black is the best seller and the unit which generates most profit it seems that GoPro will continue with the WHITE, SILVER and BLACK editions.

There is currently no leaks on possible new or enhanced features. However, as the current Hero 5/6/7 form factor is three generations old, we will probably see a new form factor in the new Hero8 series of action cameras. It remains to see how this might affect the Karma Grip gimbal. Will it be redesigned for Hero8 or go out of production?

It also remains to be seen if GoPro will be stepping up to a new GP2 processor in the Hero8 Black edition.
