War: Music industry giants also want you to live miserably http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/26525/war-music-industry-giants-also-want-you-to-live-miserably Wed, 15 Dec 2021 04:33:45 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 26525@/talks/discussions

The world's largest music labels Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group have teamed up to save the planet from global warming. The record giants have signed the Music Climate Pact, a commitment to decarbonize the industry by 2050.

Streaming service Spotify has pledged to support the record giants in their quest to reduce their negative impact on the planet. Together they will study the carbon footprint of touring, vinyl production, and the generation of energy for listening to music over the Internet.

Can anyone explain why burning down huge amount of energy on crypto scam is totally transparent and "not issue"? But vinyl production is horrible danger.

Mordor: Copyrats gain more power http://www.personal-view.com/talks/discussion/26524/mordor-copyrats-gain-more-power Mon, 13 Dec 2021 14:12:49 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 26524@/talks/discussions

During a meeting held on December 7 in Roskomnadzor, Internet companies and copyright holders agreed to sign a new version of the anti-piracy memorandum. This was reported by Vedomosti.

Yandex, Rambler, All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company, as well as associations of the largest copyright holders announced their readiness to discuss the new version of the memorandum. The signing is expected to take place before the end of the year. The new version of the document will be valid for three years.

The new memorandum will include a rule to remove from the search results "recidivist sites" with more than 100 links to illegal copies of films and TV series. Thus, Lostfilm, Kinogo and other sites that have survived due to regular domain name changes will be banned. In addition, there will be measures to combat domain splicing, allowing pirates to return to the same search positions after the link is removed from the SERP.

It is proposed to extend the action of the memorandum not only to audiovisual content, but also to other objects of intellectual property, such as books and music. It is clarified that the sanctions will not apply to legal sites, for example, websites of authorities, media, social networks, video services included in the register of audiovisual services of Roskomnadzor, and others.

Destroying copyright in any forms is essential for humanity. We can't move on with information and tools being "owned" by greedy bastards.

Google parent company Alphabet announced its fifth quarter in a row of record profits ($18.9 billion) and second straight quarter of record revenue ($65.1 billion) in October, but a company executive told employees that Google wouldn’t automatically adjust their salaries to account for inflation. According to CNBC, Google’s VP of compensation Frank Wagner told employees at a company all-hands meeting on December 7th that Google doesn’t “have any plans to do any type of across-the-board type adjustment” when asked about the inflation rate in the US.
