With previously unseen footage and $70 million worth of reshoots and post-production work, the film has been branded with an R-rating. The word on the street about Zack Snyder’s Justice League being vastly different from the 2017 theatrical cut has been confirmed with its new rating. This “new” rendition of the film has been given the R for violence and some seriously foul language. Since the new four-hour-long film is being released on HBO Max, some speculate that Snyder’s newfound freedom allows for a darker and harder-edged film that we’d expect from a DC superhero movie. This news probably isn’t shocking since Synder told Entertainment Weekly that he expected his version to get an R rating back in December.
