Leitz HEKTOR Primes Bring Classic Character to Mirrorless, with Interchangeable E/L/RF/Z Mounts

Leitz Cine has introduced HEKTOR, a new family of six full-frame T2.1 primes for mirrorless cameras, designed and built in Wetzlar with swappable E, L, RF, and Z mounts, classic-leaning optical character, and cine-grade mechanics. Arriving in 18, 25, 35, 50, 73, and 100 mm, the HEKTOR lineup marks Leitz Cine’s first dedicated move into the mirrorless ecosystem. While positioned for hybrid bodies, the lenses follow the company’s premium build ethos and are assembled by the same team responsible for SUMMILUX-C and HUGO. What is new with Leitz HEKTOR primes? Leitz says the look was curated from more than a century of cinema and photo glass, drawing inspiration from early Leica M designs and Petzval signatures to deliver pleasing flare behavior, field curvature, and spherical aberration, balanced by modern coatings that better control veiling glare and reduce chromatic aberration. The lineup also tips its hat to Leica heritage in name and in the inclusion of a 73 mm focal length, referencing Max Berek’s original Hektor series from the 1930s and their silver finish.
