Long the dominant name in cinema zooms, Benelux-headquartered Angenieux has released a full set of Cinema Primes. Currently, Angenieux is best known for its excellent line of cinema zoom lenses. Popular with indie, studio and TV cinematographers, they offer stunning image quality, great mechanics, and a variety of sensor coverage options that have kept them at the top of the market. This is combined with a "look" that is often talked about as being the best combination of the creaminess of Cooke and the sharpness of Zeiss to create some very dynamic imagery. While Angenieux has concentrated on zooms for decades, they have made prime lenses in the past, and are now launching a full line of Optimo prime lenses to bring themselves back into the prime market. This is especially exciting for filmmakers who want to freely mix between prime and zoom on a production.
