Words of wisdom from those on the cinematic front lines. Some directors make neat, organized spreadsheets, and others just scribble thoughts in the margins of a script. Some have never touched a camera, others dig into lens size, color temperature, and shutter speed. Some sit behind a monitor and watch, others prefer to be up close with the talent. Whether you went to an amazing film school or learned all your filmmaking skills from books and audio commentary tracks, eventually you’re going to develop your own directing style.
